Please update/improve the app

This gadget has ALOT of potential, but that potential is unlocked by this app. I’m going to list a few things with the hope they come out with an update one day. Seeing as the last update was 3 years ago, I don’t have much hope, maybe they abandoned this line of products, that would be a shame.

1st update. Allow for tablets to connect, and view the app in a tablet mode. Right now when I connect my IPad, it only uses a phone size part of the iPad, rendering the other 80% of the screen useless. If you would update this to have a version for tablets it would be awesome! Imagine shooting targets with your 10inch tablet on your shooting bench to check your shots. That would be better than the phone digital scope options people are leaning on now.

2nd update. Somehow find a way to improve the WiFi connection issues. I had alot of stuttering and sometimes the feed would just freeze up. You pay 300$ for something and you expect it to work, if you were relying on it for tracking big game.. man that would upset some hunters. So please try to improve the connection with the phone via WIFI

3rd update. Allow for the image to go full screen, when you are using the app, the image is horizontal and thus the exact same size as the image on the back of the camera.. why? Why not allow us to move our phones horizontally and triple the size of the image. Just fuel for thought

Now for the positives because this really is a product with high potential

The image is clear, and of good quality. Navigating the menu isn’t hard at all, and having removable batteries is awesome. I contacted customer support and they were great and very kind. I would recommend this product, but not for 300$ unless those above issues got updated. Hopefully someone reads this review and motivated the app support team to give this product a little time. Looking forward to a response or update in the future

app not working

app wifi connected to phone and device but not streaming, tried everything but no luck.

Here’s the fix

If you can’t connect your phone to your camera turn off your cellular data. Then you can connect. For some reason you can’t connect with data on.

2022 - AWFUL - update your app!

I'm sending back my spotter lr as it's absolutely worthless without an app that actually works. You guys are charging $300 for $35 chinese hardware - you could probably afford to hire a programmer or two to fix the app. Or hire me and I'll get it done for you.
The primary issue for me, is the total lack of proper functionality on iPad. The screen when in landscape mode is still stuck in portrait mode, utilizing maybe 15% of the total screen for video.

Ok, so as dumb as that is, it gets worse. I'm lime ok, can live with the major flaw, as long as I can at least review the shots after. You know like WATCH the video. Nope, the dumb gets dumber. The video I just recorded pulls up sideways, in portrait mode. You gotta be kidding me! Rotate screen and it's almost comical watching the video rotate upside down and sideways making itself totally useless no matter which way you turn the iPad. I would have to try really hard to pull off such a failure. You'd have to know what you were doing to screw it up this bad.

I'll be getting a refund and picking up one of the other devices to try. I really wanted the 4k, but without support, it's $300 garbage.

Get with the program Tacticam. Fix yer stuff!

Not Impressed

Connection to the camera fails every time. Camera WiFi is on, phone shows it’s connected, failed connection message appears every time.
App is of no use. The camera isn’t as useful as advertised without a functional App.

Photo options and WiFi needs more work

The ability to remotely control the Spotter LR camera while attached to my Vortex Viper HD is a must because the scope shakes anytime the camera is touched. The app does a nice job of taking videos, changing settings, and managing images. Unfortunately I need to zoom the camera to X4 to fill the entire frame when taking videos or photos. While this works fine with videos, the app will only take photos in X1 zoom. Since I take more photos than videos, I have to disconnect the app and turn the camera off and then back on to take photos.

The WiFi also needs a little help. After several hours of failed attempts and much resource I found that my iPhone cell data must be turned off when using the app. So much for receiving text messages or phone calls when using the app.
