Description of Solace LGBT

Solace is a free mobile application, currently region-locked to the USA, for transgender men, women, and individuals, as well as the parents and guardians of transgender children. Users are able to map out their transition, access credible information on how to accomplish their legal, medical, and social goals, stay informed about news that may impact their goals and rights, and track their progress. With Solace, users can learn how to accomplish goals like updating the name and gender marker on their legal ID, coming out to friends and family, and learning what legal rights they may have (or not) in their state. For instance, if one of the user's goals is to update their legal documentation, Solace will show the steps for their state/territory, what documentation the user will need to provide, etc. Solace also provides information on accessing gender-affirming medical services, signing up for Medicaid, and finding mental healthcare. By providing the current information relevant to each specific goal and then allowing users to mark the task complete, Solace empowers our users to complete these tasks with confidence and see themselves moving forward through their transition in real time. At any time, users can also browse Solace’s Discover page to see a full list of all the actions and goals (currently 1000+ in total) that Solace provides information for. If users discover something that they didn’t realize was possible for them before, they can add it to their road map at any time. Solace is designed to allow transgender individuals to define transition on their own terms. Solace makes no suggestion as to what a ‘complete’ transition looks like, and instead is there to affirm the user and celebrate them each step of the way. The application customizes the experience based on the user's pronouns (that can be fully editable), and state of residence to maximize the relevancy of the information and provide maximum affirmation. Solace also provides users with ways to sequence their more complex goals that require multiple steps. Every goal is tracked against a progress bar, which can serve as a helpful reminder that you are making progress in your transition. And everyday, Solace will have a new welcome message that leverages the app’s Dynamic Language and Artificial Emotional Intelligence (AEQ). [NOTE: We are not medical or legal experts. • Good Intentions Needs Improvement

Just popped in to ask can y’all update the news section? I want to come here for trans news and that’s the main reason I have the app but it hasn’t been updated in a year while a lot has been happening. It’s nice to have that little affirmation after the article of “sorry this is happening but you are loved. We are still fighting.” Tell me how we are fighting. What are we fighting against? Give me solace. Is the resources spread too tight for this app to get any attention? I’m probably going to delete it to make space bc I can google most of this easily. I’m also non-binary and I understand just allowing access to both sides but now it’s pretty cluttered. Maybe ask me some questions so you can filter out the articles that pop up?
  • Very Informative

Honestly this is totally informative and it makes navigating my transitioning so much easier instead of going in completely blind especially when you don’t have a support line or much support. Thanks for making it easier for all ❤️
  • Helpful but basically advertising at this point

I’ll start by saying this app has been helpful for me to some extent, and that’s why it’s not rated 1*.

But seriously it’s an ad for their banking app Bliss, and in fact is being sunsetted in favor of integrating everything into Bliss. Bliss requires opening a bank account to use it, which I don’t need. I have a bank account and will not open a new one. So unfortunately once the merge happens, I’ll just stop using it.
