Small fix--The panel that lets you review your video clip before uploading to Micro Karaoke now mixes in the backing audio music, so you can tell if your singing is on cue with the music if you're using headphones.

NEW this year is Micro Karaoke! This new feature is for JoCo Cruisers who love karaoke but don't have time to sing a whole song themselves. With Micro Karaoke you record yourself on camera singing a single line of a song, and then later you'll be able to watch a music video that has you in it.

New features for 2023: • KrakenTalk! A realtime bidirectional Ship-To-Same-Ship audio transmission service. Works with any other user of the Kraken App aboard the ship. Be amazed as you converse in real time with faraway people, as far away as the other end of the boat. An entirely new service unlike anything anyone's ever seen on their phone before. • Open Seamail: You can now mark a Seamail chat 'open' upon creation, and add/remove users later. • Looking For Group: Kraken now supports Twit-arr's LFG feature, meaning you can create, search for, and join Looking for Group activities.

Twit-arr, our onboard social media server, received a bunch of upgraded features this year, and The Kraken lets you access them right in the app. Forum categories, forums for Scheduled events, real time notifications, improved moderation, and updated Karaoke and Boardgames lists are available, and since The Kraken stores information for offline use, those features (except real-time notifications) are more available in the app than they are on the Twit-arr website.

The Kraken is a social media app custom-built for JoCo Cruise 2024. If you're coming with us on the cruise, you want to have this app installed to maximize your experience. This app works with Twit-arr, the JoCo Cruise onboard social media server. In addition to all the great Twit-arr features, The Kraken gives you: • Pirate Selfies: Take pictures of yourself and up to 2 friends wearing virtual Pirate Hats, and post them to Twit-arr. • Offline Access: The Kraken caches everything, meaning you can read Twit-arr posts, forums, seamail, and check the schedule, all while sitting on the beach in Half Moon Cay. • Offline Posting: You can also draft new posts while offline—they'll get sent to the Twit-arr server when you get back to the boat. • Notifications: Receive push notifications on your phone from the Twit-arr server, even with no access to the wider Internet. • Searchable Maps: Type in the name of a suite number, or any named room on the ship, and be directed to its location. • iPad support: For the true multitasker—carry on multiple conversations at once with The Kraken on iPad. Or, keep tabs on the Twit-arr stream in one column while browsing for Karaoke songs to sing in another. • KrakenTalk: a person-to-person, ship-to-same-ship real time full duplex voice communication feature. • Rock Ballad Mode: show your love for that torch song with a virtual torch. If you're going on JoCo Cruise this year, please remember to download this app before you board. It's much easier and faster to download apps while ashore.
