Limiting Calculator will adjust the recipe so that you use the proportional amount of each ingredient based on the limiting ingredient. What if the recipe yields 10 cupcakes but you are having 14 guests? Yield Calculator will adjust the recipe so that you can make enough for everyone. • Almost 5 stars

Truly a helpful and easy to use kitchen tool. Would be even better if it had a simple and direct calculator in the “converters” section to get equivalency ratios. Currently you have to use the “Limiting” or “yield” tools to build that calculation. Would be nice to be able to just plug in numbers and press a “calculate” button to get a missing variable. Still, Bake-u-lator is a really good, reliable app.

How do I delete saved recipes

    Developer Response

Thanks for using Bake-u-lator! You can delete saved recipes by swiping left on the recipe from the list of recipes.
  • Please, so much potential I would gladly pay for

It’s pretty good as is, but just needs a little more flexibility.

This app is going to help me keep track of baking experiments, and I’m very excited about that. I did immediately meet what seems like a big shortcoming. When using the yield tool, what I’m most likely doing is trying to re-portion the recipe to just make 2 cupcakes or whatever. The results in this case are useless, offering things in 1/12 of a cup, or 1/16 tsp. It will always return the new measurement in the same scale as the original measurement, which is unusable without one by one converting them to weight measurements, which is tedious when looking to permutate a recipe 12 different ways.

There are some other minor gripes, but that’s the main one. It’s really a remarkably nice app considering it’s free. It’s just a shame that you’ll need to invest time into it to get your recipes in the system, but then the system is limited in some really frustrating ways. I’d gladly pay $5-$10 for a more robust version of this exact app, especially if it were partially geared toward tracking baking experiments.
