Sometimes maybe good sometimes maybe awful
I’ve come accustom to this app living in a rural area. My main way of commuting is on one singular bus route, which busses are every hour (supposedly) however are simply not. This app covers its tracks when cancelling busses, it does it so it appears the bus is coming and ‘on time’ even with the green active icon, however doesn’t appear in real life. I understand it may not look good for Arriva that they maybe cancelling many busses but at least put it on the app so I’m not waiting outside for nothing. My advice for waiting for a bus is to check the timetable for the station you are at on the app, then look on the map feature (which is a very good addition) and see if you can see that bus on the map. If it appears it is very lucky that your bus is actually coming. Another way in my experience is if the bus is late, normally means it is actually coming very rarely ‘on time’. These ghost busses seem more dominant at peak times.

I just lost money!
I’m fighting hard to not use damning words in this review but it’s so hard. Now, this is what happened: I went on this app for the first time ever to buy a ticket for 724. I got the ticket, and paid for it alright. Then, I got an alert saying I can’t use the ticket u til after activating it. Note that I’m using this app for the first time (and buying bus tickets online for the first time ever), so I had NO IDEA what ticket activation means. I clicked on “activate ticket”, and after the ticket is activated I saw a 1-hour countdown for when my ticket would expire. My journey is in 12 hour’s time!!! Nowhere in the process of buying a ticket did I ever get educated about the fact I’ll have to activate my ticket, or that ticket activation means I’ll have only an hour to use the ticket — not even when I clicked the button to activate the ticket! How can this happen? I’ve lost the money! How come NOBODY thought of educating the user about irreversible actions, especially ones that could potentially lose them money? This is bad engineering and product development. I will literally never use this app again.

Not liking it, just lost my tickets
It took the app several attempts to recognise my new account. Next, I open my tickets because I want to make sure I booked them right and the app asks me to activate them. All right, I do that only to learn after I click on Activate that it actually turns the timer on for my day ticket I booked for next week telling me I only have 9hr of use left. What? And there’s no option to stop or reverse the activation. Why? Why would you not bother to explain why and when one needs to activate the tickets? It’s very misleading , there’s no warning or explanation that I’m supposed to activate it on the day I plan to use it. I have never used this service or app before, I just need two tickets to get me to the airport. Why does it need to be so complicated? Why don’t you just allow people to download tickets if preferred?
Whoever designed the app, didn’t do a good job with UX experience planning. User experience is more than just pretty buttons.
