Useless downloading
If I could give it zero stars I would. After waiting 10 minutes for a small 350mb country file to download I gave up and permanently removed this app for ever.

2021 update enhances this spectacular app
The Birds of Africa app now completes its portfolio for West Africa, maintaining the high standards already achieved in earlier editions. The quality of photographic images is second to none, whilst information, maps and interactive functions make this outstandingly the ‘go-to’ app for those with a keen interest in African birds, from beginner to seasoned field ornithologist. The African Bird Club and the app developers deserve high praise for producing this excellent resource. It’s expansion into East and Southern Africa is already underway, and is keenly awaited!

This is a superb resource. The ABC should be congratulated in producing something of this quality for free and to support education and appreciation of the natural world.
