Excellent app and hiking companion

I love this app for its visualization and statistics. It’s a great way to relive your adventures and gain perspective on the places you’ve been.

One issue though is since updating to iOS 17, my memories have no longer been updating after logging a hike on my Apple Watch

I'm so happy to hear you're enjoying the visualization and statistics! I'm taking a look into the Health integration now. In the mean time, did you hear there is a new Landscape Apple Watch app?

Gold

I hope whoever created this app makes bank on this. What a development to the IPhone world. Maps is laughing now…

Unparalleled AR & Dependability

The only app I would chose to assist on a 14,000ft hike. AR feature is both helpful and aesthetically pleasing. Big fan!

Dangerous and expensive

Extremely dangerous for actual mountaineering use, very low resolution maps and slope shading. This app would literally send you off of a cliff if you trusted it. It uses free maps from open street app that anyone can use. In fact, I’m an open street contributor myself. I contribute for free to help others, then this app bundles up those contributions of volunteers, and sells it to people. For mountaineering use, CalTopo is cheaper and much more powerful. Four peak tracking, peak bagger is much more intuitive, and it’s free.

Hi again 👋 Landscape is a tool and should never been used as anything beside a supplement to experience in the backcountry. OpenStreetMap is an incredible project and provides invaluable data to nearly every map you see today including Apple Maps, Google Maps, and more. The maps you see in Landscape are not repackaged OSM maps however they are derived from them, that's why we include the attribution in the map selection screen. Pretty buggy

The app doesn’t seem to remember that I’ve opened the app and shows the welcome screen every time I open to it. It lags a lot, especially on the memories page where it hangs all the time browsing and scrolling (I have about 740 miles of hikes in Health that it imported). Those map thumbnails are never cached and needs to get regenerated every time I open the app as well. Only a small portion of the hikes show the location, most don’t. On the details page, some hikes show elevation gain but most don’t. The AR 3D model never finishes rendering, only showing up as a shape without actual map texture.

Hey Colin, The latest updated should have addressed some of those performance problems in Memories. Let me know how things are working! You can always reach me with any other issues/requests/ideas at cam@getlandscape.app. Cameron

Pretty Dang Cool!

Used this app to record a 6 mile hike today and it worked great. The in-hike map and stats display were spot on.

The 3d model is so much fun to play with after the hike, and the app makes great use of AR so that you can place the map on the floor or table.

It was also able to automatically import my older hikes that I recorded with another app.

Truly amazing

This app is great. It allows you to see what your hike will look like, and gives you a unique perspective on what to expect. I look forward to trying the offline features on my next adventure

Great Concept! Excited to see what’s next

Looking forward to this app. I’m an avid hiker and like to visualize what’s ahead on my treks. This will definitely help me navigate my way to a peak!
