Politically aware games

As a political economist (and closet gamer!), I’ve enjoyed many of Molleindustria’s games, from the McDonald’s sim to Unmanned. Paolo blends gameplay with socially aware critiques that challenge the assumptions of neoliberal society. If you’re looking for a game in the classic sense, this is not it. Instead, this is a well thought out simulator that cleaves very closely to the concept of democratic socialism and the broken two party system in the US. A game like this quietly teaches players about the basic precepts of a variant of socialism, or as far as the US would even permit. Well done, again, Paolo!

Your friend in Canada. :)

The greatest app ever created!!

As a Socialist I love this game in all ways possible. This is a perfect game that represents the Socialist ideology in the modern world and stands up to the pro right-wing interpretation that Socialism is Communism and is inherently evil. This game helps people to understand the ideology and it’s policies. Democratic Socialism Simulator is the greatest game on Capitalist App Store. No adverts, no Micro transactions, no paying at all. Well done Comrades for standing up for your values. Bernie Sanders would proud. As always Lenin lived, Lenin lives, Lenin will live forever.

Quite fun

I don’t mind this game it’s a great time waster and really fun. However, I think it would be better if we could choose which party we play as and also be able to rotate the screen because it can get quite annoying. Other than that great game would defo recommend to others!

Good, but can see what the developers political ideas are

It’s a great fun game. Although I do not support this type of political system. Can not wait for other ones to come out. You should do a Uk one and make it so you can choose which party you represent.

I wish it were longer! Also, a bug

I wish it was longer! It feels like right as I’ve found the right balance, the game ends.

I wish there could be a long and short version, with the longer version going more in depth for certain scenarios.

It feels like many of the same events happen as well. For the black budget event, the player has to swipe through all of the investigative prompts in order to decide to cut funding for it. It feels repetitive, tldr. But that won’t stop me from rating five stars, and playing it again and again.

FOR THE BUGS: it seems when a voter is generated allllll the way over to the right of the screen, you can’t click on them to see their values. Also I think that the Billionares = class enemies event results are different on IOS than they are for PC? I’ll have to double check.

Thanks for such a great game, I’m so glad I could find it for IOS

Great concept! Please add more!

As a lefty I love this game but obviously the world isn’t controlled by Liberals. Great game, could easily spend hours playing

Ok game with Propaganda

Ok game with swipe left/right mechanism. Not very subtle personal political views of the developers shines through. Didn’t bother me personally but might annoy others

Repetitive

There should be more variety in the actions and decisions outcomes - also won’t rotate the screen for some reason

Brilliant game

I love this game, however maybe make us able to play as another president after the term limit expires, if we have enough public support

Awesome, but somewhat limited

This is a really great game in the style of Reigns, which I appreciate, and it’s got an interesting mechanic with the elections and approval ratings that adds a certain twist to it. I’ve only got a minor complaint, and it’s that the game gets really old after maybe the first three hours you play it because it just doesn’t have too many scenarios or policies to act on. It’s not such a big issue that I’m taking off a star, but I would love to see a significant expansion in the next update.
