  • Fun game, progress halts quickly

I was having a lot of fun playing this, I am very big on idle games. The part that is basically ruining this game for me however is the crystals. Using the soul wells is not only confusing, but not tailored to idle play at all. I basically cannot progress any further because every time I get on I have no crystals due to them being used for armor, or I have a full storage which runs out very quickly as the upgrades for homes gets very expensive. I’m basically at a stand still, I don’t have time to sit down and balance out the soul wells but before now this was a game I could pick up, do some stuff, and come back to later. Other than that it’s been very enjoyable.

  • So good.

I think this game is great. I keep coming back for more.
  • Great Update to a Great Game

I played this game originally when I was taking care of my mom who was sick with cancer, so it has a special place in my heart.

The latest update does it great justice by introducing significant quality of life improvements to both gameplay and the UI.

Thanks to the developer for updating the game and letting me relive a softer moment in my life. Best wishes for you and yours in the future.

  • upon further review, it’s okay

I wrote my first review—a 1 star one—after the devs updated the game to the current version. It wiped my progress and changed quite a bit of how the game works, which was incredibly frustrating.

Having now continued to play it, I can say I’m still irritated that I lost all my progress, but the set up is better. There’s some things I don’t like, like how it no longer tells me the net gain/loss of items (only listing what’s coming in and out), and I do NOT understand how a wolf is a healer, but it’s solid. It’s not the game I initially signed up to play; it has rules about how many of each unit I’m allowed in my army and I can’t make a town of just barracks and storage, but they are sensible if annoying rules.

  • Exploring 2.0

I started Home Quest recently as a recommendation from Melvor Idle players. I was enjoying the game and working up to a new goal when everything reset. So I’m a little bummed to start over but I’m looking forward to seeing what’s new in 2.0. It’s already interesting to see what has been moved around and rebalanced. Plus all the work in new art looks intense! Though I’ll miss the minimalist look a bit 😁

  • Game develops as you go

The game was super simple at first, but as soon as you get more settlements, it gets really exciting. I just finished the marshland pact and was really disappointed to see that I reached the end of version 1 and there aren’t any more tasks. I hope there is an update soon
  • Nice Idle Game With Story

Pretty self-explanatory, it’s an idle game with a simple story. No need for micro-transactions or much in terms of active play features; you just get little towns built and make military units to fight to unlock more settlements and story bits. If there were updates coming, I would definitely pay for the “gold version” upgrade just to support the developers; it doesn’t add much to the game at the moment, so it’s basically a developer tip with a couple small bonuses in return.

  • Cool grind! Intriguing lore!

Honestly I liked the way everything starts slow but I can see how much a smooth balancing act it is at your third city 😅 all in all good idler
  • Very good

Just started playing and I love it so far but would love a global font size option as it’s a bit small for me despite the rest of my phone looking normal while using smaller font text in the iOS settings.
  • Enjoyed it

Game was great, been playing it for a couple weeks now. I just reached the end of the story and enjoyed reading about the world. The game is idle for the most part you can come back every few minutes or every few hours and you’ll have something to do. Scratched a town building itch without all the visuals and MTX that other games have. Felt very smooth and was a little slow at first but once you start understanding the world it makes more sense.

    A few things to note.
Troop targeting, I think tank troops need to be attacked first or set it up so front line troops are more likely to get attacked. Where I’m at now, I start a battle and the next thing I’m doing is training 50 more healers because they are attacked first. I love the “Send troops to Valhalla” feature.
Factories, they are broken. It does take a few days to set up but once you have 100 factories built, it snowballs and you get more resources in a game tic than you could ever need. I’m at about 600 factories and ONE worker gives me 47 BILLION of that resources. I would say model them instead of a flat 5% make it an increasing exponential decay function. I know you don’t have a lot of late game features but no matter what you do unless they are reworked factories are broken.

I loved the game and I am looking forward to seeing it grow. Meanwhile I will build more factories. xD
