Disappointed with this
How do I get a refund?
Response from developer
Hello, this app shows you what you will get before you purchase it. Everyone can decide if they want to proceed with payment or not. You can get a refund in the same way as with any other app bought on the App Store: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204084 If you would encounter any issues, please contact me at support@lidarscanner.app Best regards, Marek
Oh it’s free! Wait... no it isn’t.
Response from developer
Hello 4DBob, you can send me an email at support@LidarScanner.app and I will give you the app for free :)! To my defense, I have never said the app is free — you can download and test it to see if it is good for you, but it is paid. I think you would agree with me that working completely for free is not sustainable in the long term — you have to pay your bills and for food, so I assume you are also not working without anything in return. Even slaves get food and shelter for their labour. If everyone in the world didn't want money for housing, food, clothing, etc., then I would happily work for free too! But sadly, nothing in this world is for free — when you download a "free" app, then think why you don't pay money for it. In most cases, such apps use advertisements and tracking and sell your data ("if you are not paying for the product, you are the product"). I personally hate tracking, which is why my apps do NOT contain any kind of tracking or ads. In return for this complete privacy, I ask for a one-time payment of 0.99 USD in this app. Do you think it is unfair? What would you do in my place? Thank you for letting me know; I will wait for your email :)! Best regards, Marek
Useless App
What is the point.
Response from developer
Hello Magpie, if you want more detail in your scan, you can use my other app — Heges (https://hege.sh) — which utilizes the selfie FaceID camera for scanning. The selfie camera has much higher resolution/accuracy than LiDAR (this is hardware limitation). Best regards, Marek
retention of POV?
Pointcloud
Response from developer
Hello, yes, it is possible.
Does nothing
Response from developer
Hello, please do not lie that my app "does nothing". You can try it for free before deciding whether to purchase it (for 1 USD) or not — so you know exactly how do the scans look like and what you will be getting, I don't really know what more should I do to please you. Moreover — and this is important ❗️ — the scans are provided directly by Apple, not by 3rd party developers like me, therefore if you are not satisfied with the results (which you can see and inspect before purchasing), then I recommend that you contact Apple and tell them that their tech "does nothing" and that their scans are bad ;). Another blatant lie that you wrote it that the other app has the same resolution. This is not true and I don't understand why would you even think of writing something like that… The other app has incomparably BETTER resolution because it uses the more precise selfie TrueDepth camera (FaceID) instead of LiDAR. And you can see that for yourself from the publicly available sample models that you can inspect. I am really not sure if you just had a bad day or if you are a troll. If you would like to discuss this, feel free to contact me at support@LidarScanner.app Best regards, Marek
Needs textures and proper export
edit: thanks to the developer for responding to my original review and informing me that there is an export option! keep it up!
Response from developer
Hello, you can actually export into OBJ, STL, and PLY (and of course to USDZ) — just slide your finger over a scan in Saved Scans, select Export and pick the format that you want. You can read the message on top of the Saved Scans popup, where this is written. I will see what I can do regarding textures. Let me know if you'd want any help — you can reach me at support@LidarScanner.app. Best regards, Marek Edit: Thank you for reacting to my response, I appreciate that :)! I hope the texturing feature will be added soon.
Cool but doesn’t map textures
Other than that unfortunately there is no texture mapping.
Cool so far though :)
Interesting but useless
Response from developer
Thanks, fbara. We have to wait for Apple to give us better access to the LiDAR in iOS 14, because as of iOS 13, there is nothing to be done about mesh quality. Best regards, Marek
