App feels badly made
To name a couple problems; the demo mode looks like the full app, why would I pay for a account when everything is free?
When I’m on the demo mode, tapping on the profile icon locks the app, I cannot click on the settings, close the profile page the only option is to “Exit Demo mode” which brings me back to the App home page anyway instead of closing the profile screen.
Everything looks terrible, I’m sure the models look good judging by the pictures, but when I use them they look terrible and the lighting is so dark! It looks like they stuck a flashlight to the camera. I have played many AR apps and games and so many have lighting and graphics from this decade.
The everything is massive, the “small mode” makes the animals the size of my car, and the “medium mode” is half the size of my house. I haven’t bothered with anything else because I can only expect I need a football stadium to use it.
The actual experience of looking at animals is terrible, the tiny information box at the bottom of the screen is so hard to ready, especially for anyone with visual impairments. The circles pop in and out of existence like I’m being taught quantum physics, which makes it really hard to demonstrate this app to anyone.
There’s no reward or reason to do any word games, it’s a cool idea but how do I track the progress, how do I encourage people to do a labelling exercise when there’s no feedback, even a “Well done” or “Game Over” would be something.
There is TOO MUCH TEXT! I feel like every animal has an essay written about them by the sheer amount of text and no formatting, and even the phrasing sounds disconnected from the content. Please reconsider how much text you put in an app for kids, no one wants to spend 30 minutes reading some content copy and pasted from Wikipedia or the 1st page of google.
Overall, 1/10. There is barely any effort put into this app, you only need to spend a day actually using the app to see everything I’ve mentioned and more. I would not recommend this as a educational tool.

Not suitable for early years

Dear katyPic78, We are really sorry to hear about your concerns with the app. Regarding the content for EYFS children this is something we are currently working on and will update the content as soon as possible. Currently it is more suited to KS1 or KS2 children. Regarding the placement of models, there are a few things you can do to fix this: Firstly before you load the model, there is an option to set its default size. If you set this to 'small' that will likely help. Second when your are in your AR Session you can scale the model yourself using a Pinch Gesture to any size which suits your environment. In regard to the model floating, this is likely caused my the device having issues detecting a surface with suitable detail for plane detection. Unfortunately at this stage this is something which is out of hands as this feature is a 3rd Party API.
