I’m a recent subscriber to your Monoca 2 App and like the recent list display enhancement, however in my view you could further improve this functionality by creating the view in a table / spreadsheet display, such that the label names, if required, would appear at the top of the screen and the selected fields (perhaps limited to 4 given the screen width restraints, iPhone portrait mode for example) appear in a row, as against 2 top and 2 bottom as you have created.
Obviously there are advantages and disadvantages of this, but it would increase the number of records listed in the display thus making a better presentation of the selected data such that each item is more easily read.
True this could be at the expense of displaying the full contents of a particular field’s data, as is the case of adding the edit + and - buttons to a numeric field which has happened to me should I use my iPhone in portrait mode, but of course with landscape mode or using an iPad then normally I guess it wouldn’t be an issue.
Of course, now that you’ve introduced the list display functionality, the icing on the cake for me at least would surely be the ability to save several list displays by name, each encompassing their own filter and sort criteria, such that the user could then view their respective saved list displays at any time.
Now talking of filtering the gathered data, apart from the colour tags which I have to say are very useful but sadly have limitations, there is no ability to create such queries, unless you can tell me otherwise, which sadly doesn’t help Monoca 2 fight off the competition, and which could force users elsewhere.
That said, Monoca 2 is certainly well presented with the additional use of Themes, thus pleasing to the eye for all users, and of course the functionality of being able to add / delete fields after a database has been created, which to me is invaluable, although it would be nice to see a Boolean field added (displaying either “yes” or “no”, or maybe a graphical “tick” or “cross”).
Furthermore I’ve come across a Search issue whereby Monoca 2 fails to reveal records on one of my Text (one line) fields in one of my Collections, when it does find records meeting search criteria in a similar text field within the same Database / Collection, or another created Collection. Quite why is strange.
Despite the above comment, the App is certainly worth consideration and should “Filtering” be added then it warrants a much higher ranking.
