The powerful sounding guitar has been replaced by a twangy sounding one. It would be nice to have both as options, instead of just removing the old one.

I've reverted the guitar audio to the older samples for now (the day after you wrote your review), while I work out various unexpected issues in the latest update. FYI, the reason it sounds different is that I re-recorded everything to be able to offer a variety of new strumming patterns. I used much better microphones and a proper recording studio to capture the samples, so there's a lot more clarity and they are closer to the actual sound of the guitar... but for someone used to the old audio (which had dampened high frequencies) I can see how it would take some getting used to. I will see what I can do. Thanks for your feedback.
Great program and getting better !
This is a must for rehearsal or jamming, real acoustic instruments with a variety of alternative styles and time signatures.
I am even making my own tracks in minutes with intro and ending or sets of 3 or 4 jigs or reels. My plan is to save the downloaded tunes into audacity and convert to wav to end up in my boss RC3
For a nights worth of material. The quality is sharp and clear and distinct, in fact a better balanced sound than any 3 piece would achieve.
It’s me and my guitar and a fiddle player playing live,
plus the accompaniment of 3 or more instruments from strum machine.
This is perfect when you need to keep personell costs to a minimum and venues a only have set budgets, so better save on the bass, guitar and mandolin, they’re here.
There is a massive included database and as I said, you can alter every aspect of those tracks and add your own.
Luke, the developer is very helpful and he will reply quickly to sort out any problems. He is also constantly adding new features and more flexibility to the program too and emails updates regularly.
I have the program on tho other devices on different platforms with no conflict or problems and your material is always saved.

Awesome practice app! 🎻
Thank You for developing the Strum Machine app! I have been using it for about two years personally and with my fiddle / guitar students over the pandemic. It's made a world of difference when I am teaching kids and adults how to jam with others. And, the app has definitely helped those who have not been able to jam lately due to quarantine. Many of my students use it on their own during practices at home, and they say it makes the practice even more enjoyable! So thanks so much!

Love the app—when it works…
The last two times I’ve tried to use it’s it wouldn’t download. I keep having to delete it and reload it. Not worth all the hassle!
Best app ever!
This app is so user-friendly but even better, it makes me so much more eager to practice. It has so many unbelievably cool features and so much customizability. It’s a thousand times more fun than practicing with a boring metronome (zzzz) and has super cool features like being able to change the key, the speed, to create medleys (new!), and to slow down the challenging parts. I adore this app and use it daily.

its not free. downloaded the app and tried to play as song but there is no sound, it wants you to sign up for 4.99 a month

There are hundreds of old-time fiddle and banjo tunes already loaded, and defining your own is simple. Makes practice much more fun and productive.
