This is an excellent app that provides stress readings based on heart sensor data. It provides data similar to that generated by sports watches such as those by Garmin. While heart rate variability (HRV) is related to a variety of conditions including stress, providing it solely as milliseconds between beats is not very useful. This app converts it into a number related to stress. It works like the technology developed by FirstBeat. Also, the app is beautifully designed with a dashboard that provides an overview of stress readings over time as well as heart rate data. The dashboard also provides a multi-day view of percentage of time spent each day in resting, normal, and high stress levels. The homepage has buttons on along the bottom that provides more detailed data on each panel as graphs. One thing that could be improved is to make the inclusion the previous days stress graph for comparison a choice that one could toggle on or off. When both are shown on the same graph, it makes the current day’s graph hard to discern with the overlapping graph of the previous day. Very important to me is how often the app has been updating. It has been updated often which is necessary for a new app but is also necessary to keep refining it. Apps updated once or a few times a year are generally not worth it. This one is well worth the one time cost.
