5 Star

This game is so good and realistic the map setup is. Overall this is one of the better 17th century battle games I played. It would be nice if you can add the American revolution or war of 1812, just a little add on if your willing to ,but still a great game.

Hi. Thanks for your review. Glad you enjoy it. John

French & Indian War App - High-Fives!!!

I’ve been playing FIW for about 2+years now and it is always challenging and engaging. High-five to jgregorygames! After some thought I’d like to make one suggestion that might add to the gameplay. Would it be possible to add a Canoe to the repertoire of equipment? For example, a canoe could allow troops (small number >250 at a time for example) to maneuver the lakes and rivers as was the case historically. Similar to how the ships allow for increased strategy along the coastlines, the canoes could lend the land based game some dynamic strategy in terms of flanking or out-maneuvering choke-points. You could designate certain key squares as points of departure and points of arrival making control of those points important such as Montreal at St-Laurent River or other spots along the Ottawa River, Lake Champlain, Ohio River, Mississippi River and around the Great-Lakes). If those spots were held or protected by town or troops then landing the canoes would not be allowed. Also land that was left unattended could be taken and troops could then assemble behind enemy lines (like paratroopers). Acquiring Canoes could be tied to an upgrade such as both an Indian City or European City (similar to how cannons are available from a Fortress). If a group of troop possesses one or more canoes they could move and jump around using the waterways (like how a knight in chess can jump squares).

Hi, thanks for your review. This game is a little more complex than CAW or WIE. Thanks again. John

The way to go

I consider this the first in the JGregorygames portfolio. I just downloaded my third game from the appstore. Colonies at War l consider number two in the suite and it was World at War that l just downloaded.
No big learning curve. Just play and you’ll get these games as your conquests increase. I don’t remember Civ I but played Civ II ad infinitem back in the day of 386 SX and DX PCs. This and all his games that I’ve played harken back to that franchise game.
Highly recommended for those gamers who have grown tired of games that demand your presence and punish your development without you being online.
Thank you Mr. Gregory. I hope your time spent developing these games rewards you well enough to continue developing such a fine suite of strategy games.

Hi, Thanks for your review. This is my first game and my favourite. But you may be surprised to know that this is the least popular. And so I started simplifying my games to attract more players. If FIW made more money then I would have made more spinoffs.

Amazing

Amazing but could you have a game for South America or Africa? Just my suggestion

Response from developer

Hi, thanks for your review, yes I can, I am doing Britain now. I haven’t decided what is next. We will see.

Game seems broken but it’s fun.

Game has potential but seems broken. Offering alliance with other nations/ sending gifts doesn’t do much because they’ll just invade right after and the game doesn’t give any mercy literally everyone is after you. I don’t expect an easy game but have spent hours playing and the game isn’t fun when everyone is after you. It feels a bit unfair, as a game developer I see some flaws In the game but it does have some potential. Also there’s a ridiculous amounts of adds to the point we’re I just couldn’t play it anymore.

Diplomacy is useless

You have to pay for a peace treaty then pay to start a alliance then you hit end turn and your ally invades you and your back at war

Response from developer

Hi, just paying for peace does no assure peace, you must live peacefully and keep a good reputation. Also don’t get into dodgy alliances

Small problem

Hi this is a really nice game but there is a problem with the discover new world game mode. It says I am the 1st most powerful nation but then on a random turn it will say a another nation who isn’t on the leader board has won the game.

Review

I love the game you can catch on quickly but it isn’t easy I would love for the developers to continue working on this gem of a game to keep it alive

Response from developer

Hi, Thanks for your review. It will stay alive because it is the mother of all my other games, they all owe their code taken from FIW. I actually stripped a lot of code out to make CAW.

Nice Game

I like this game so much! It is really cool with the stuff in the game.

Response from developer

Hi ,thanks for your review. It is my to do list. I cannot give a time, sorry. John
