Excellent retro brick breaker
Shaded Bricks has changed so much in the past fortnight. It originally had tap left/right paddle control which I found quite awkward to play, so I contacted the developer/creator, Richard Bannister, and asked him if it was possible to implement a swipe control paddle. Kudos to him because he’s completely transformed the game entirely, for the better I might add. Great level design and graphics that will remind you of old school breakout games, and fun power ups make this both challenging and interesting. This version is so much better than the original, I’m totally addicted to playing. Highly recommended.Show lessGreat Re-creation of an old computer style brick breaker
I love classic brick breaker games. This one brings me back to those windows games on windows 95. A couple things are holding it back.
1. There is a bug with the long paddle where sometimes the ball will go through the paddle. It’s happened with the regular paddle and the magnet upgraded one.
2. Its hard to use the pink star shooter and the magnet paddle. The big button in the middle of the screen is hard to use.
Overall, I feel this needs a little bit more tweaking and it’d be 5 stars from me. I love the challenge and keeps me coming back for more.
UPDATE (4/15/21)
I reached out to the dev and he kindly fixed the long paddle bug. This fix makes it a five star game in my opinion. Being able to move the virtual action button would help, but overall, this a great re creation of a classic brick breaker game. Looking forward to any additions, like more levels and different types of blocks!
What I really appreciate is the design, price, and a lack of ads. This is the best brick breaker on iOS!Show less
