  • Useful - Once I was able to select a folder

I was trying to use this to copy some files over from my iPad to my laptop and had some difficulty getting it to work (probably due to my own inexperience with iOS) so I'm sharing the steps I had to take in case it saves anyone else some trouble:

I was unable to select a folder from within the app, the "Open" button in the files popup was disabled for any folder I navigated to. Instead I had to open the Files app and use the "Share" option for the folder I was interested in serving with Tiny Server.

Also, this is almost certainly an issue with my router but I had to switch to the 2.4 GHz network for my connection to go through (however connecting the device to itself in Safari was never a problem) otherwise the connection would hang and eventually time out.

  • Fantastic. Zero problems.

Fantastic app. Easy setup. I’ll use it a often.
  • Will Not Start

Was happy to pay the reasonable amount requested but was disappointed that I could not start the server. Selected a folder on an attached USB flash drive. Several seconds after clicking the “Start Server” button the app crashes. Downloaded on my iPhone running iOS 15.6.1.

    Developer Response

Hi Howard, sorry that the app crashed on you. I haven’t been able to reproduce a crash, the app works with an external drive for me. Could you please send an email to tinyserver@christian-lobach.de? Then we can look at the problem together. - Christian
  • Great app

This app creates a website on your phone/tablet that lists files on the device and lets you download them. It’s a relatively simple way to make the files on your device available to other computers. For my use, the other computers were Garmin GPS units and the files were routes downloaded from websites to the phone. The developer updated TinyServer so it would also work for this use. Very cool.

  • Best Web Server Possible on an iPhone

This is very simple to use and takes in what other web server apps on the AppStore and simplifies it to something that isn’t a hassle to work with and it works well! Also I love the choice between the 2 URL’s that can be used to find the device that the server is being hosted on so you don’t have to send someone that you know your LAN IP like if they are next to you.
