Description of Muza

MUZA is a multidisciplinary museum dedicated to Israeli culture in the past and present. The permanent and temporary exhibitions create contemporary connections among the various aspects of culture explored by the museum, including archaeology, ethnography, functional art, art, photography and the documentation of Israeli society. One of the three largest museums in Israel, MUZA extends over an area measuring close to 50 acres, and features ceramics, glass, and coin displays, among others. At the heart of the museum is an ancient archaeological tell. Located throughout the grounds are mosaics, machinery for producing oil, ancient wine presses, a flour mill and more. The museum collections contain hundreds of thousands of artifacts, including rare and unique treasures. The museum is also home to a planetarium, variously-sized auditoriums, a store and a restaurant.
