This is a useful app for following hurricanes and Typhoons. The graphics are superb, especially those available through the modestly priced subscription.
One complaint complaint is that there is no way to lock the globe to the Atlantic Ocean. When you open the app the default view is Central Asia.
My second complaint is that the app support page has no way to contact the author. There is neither a form nor an email. The link that would provide more details about the app is broken. The example given on the developer’s website discusses comparing Hurricane Katrina with Super Storm Sandy. Unfortunately I have not found a way to add them to the display.
Third, there’s older storms can’t be displayed. This is especially true of any storm without a modern name. Hurricanes prior to the Cold War were titled by the year and major location such as Galveston, TX 1900 or Labor Day Storm 1935. The author has promised more storms will be added but did not indicate when.
All of these problems are small and don’t diminish the app’s functionality. I’m sure they will be fixed quickly. I definitely recommend this app to anyone of any age as entertaining when no storms are present and useful when they are.
