Price History of Nomad Sculpt

Description of Nomad Sculpt

• Sculpting tools Clay, flatten, smooth, mask and many other brushes will let you shape your creation. You can also use the trim boolean cutting tool with lasso, rectangle and other shapes, for hardsurface purposes. • Stroke customization Falloff, alphas, tilings, pencil pressure and other stroke parameters can be customized. You can save and load your tools preset as well. • Painting tools Vertex painting with color, roughness and metalness. You can easily manage all your material presets as well. • Layers Record your sculpting and painting operations in separate layers for easier iteration during the creation process. Both the sculpting and painting changes are recorded. • Multiresolution sculpting Go back and forth between multiple resolution of your mesh for a flexible workflow. • Voxel remeshing Remesh quickly your mesh to get a uniform level of detail. It can be used to quickly sketch a rough shape at the beginning of the creation process. • Dynamic topology Refine locally your mesh under your brush to get an automatic level of detail. You can even keep your layers, as they will be automatically updated! • Decimate Reduce the number of polygons by keeping as many details as possible. • Face Group Segment your mesh into subgroups with the face group tool. • Automatic UV unwrap The automatic UV unwrapper can use face groups to control the unwrapping process. • Baking You can transfer vertex data such as color, roughness, metalness and small scaled detail in to textures. You can also do the opposite, transfering textures data into vertex data or layers. • Primitive shape Cylinder, torus, tube, lathe and other primitives can be used to quickly start new shapes from scratch. • PBR rendering Beautiful PBR rendering by default, with lighting and shadows. You can always switch to matcap for a more standard shading for sculpting purposes. • Post processing Screen Space Reflection, Depth of Field, Ambient Occlusion, Tone mapping, etc • Export and Import Supported formats include glTF, OBJ, STL or PLY files. • Interface Easy-to-use interface, designed for mobile experience. Customization is possible as well! • Quad Remesher (separate in-app purchase only) Remesh your object automatically with a quad dominant mesh that follows the mesh curvatures. It supports guides, face groups and density painting.

Reviews of Nomad Sculpt

  • Absolutely awesome! Except for one thing…

This app is absolutely everything I’ve needed or wanted in a sculpting app like this and I’m so pleased with everything about it except one thing… I had been working on one of my sculpts for around 2 hours and had finally finished it, I celebrated the result before turning off my iPad and leaving. I little while later I opened the app to show people the finished product only to find out that nothing had saved. And I guess technically that was user error, my fault, but when I told everyone about what had happened they thought there should’ve been an auto save or something. So I guess what I’m saying is you guys should add an auto save feature to save other people from this outcome.
  • 👍

This app is nice. I’ve been making a HiveWing model on it and I’d say it’s going decently? The app itself is great, my skills are just kind of meh. Anyway, here’s what I have to say to people considering Nomad, or basically any other 3D modeling app.

Don’t let the pictures pull you in.

The models shown in the pictures are obviously done by professionals. Your skills will not magically become equivalent to a 3D-modeling version of Leonardo DaVinci. While the app is good, it doesn’t have some kind of ability to turn you into a master. If you just want a good 3D modeling app and don’t expect to become a genius just because of the pictures shown, then go ahead. But if you’re looking for a way to become famous using 3D modeling, go get lessons.
  • Probably the best iOS sculpting app

This is by far the most robust sculpting app on iOS, except for maybe forger from what I’ve heard, but being honest you can ignore forger bc it’s a subscription based app and I’m poor. A one time fee, including all future updates and features? He’ll yeah! A sculpting app with nearly as many features as zBrush (ok maybe not quite but as close as you’ll get on mobile)? Also he’ll yeah! Really there’s no competition. Even against zBrush you have to consider how much cheaper this is in the long run… unless you’re a professional, it’s just not worth it bc you probably won’t even use half of the features.

A very long winded way of saying: ZBrush is not just the best sculpting app for iOS, it may also be one of the best non-subscription sculpting apps in general!
