Could be a game changer
As an architect versed in 3D visualization software, naturally I was curious to find a DICOM viewer I could use to visualize CAT scans and MRIs to better understand a personal hip injury. Working with DICOM viewers that I could find online, they all had a cumbersome and tedious interface for patient use and it was hard for the lay user to quickly isolate specific views that were helpful. I discovered MedVizi that I did not realize was still an alpha program under development. Working with the developer, I was able to get the program to view my data and found somewhat surprisingly that this program allows quick and easy 3D visualization of DICOM data directly to apple portable devices (I-phone and I-Pad) The images were clear and easily manipulated for color density and contrast to reveal specific aspects of the scans while simultaneously easily cutting section views to get to problem areas. Further discussion with the developer helped me understand how the software is intended to be used for patients and providers. If this gets rolled out as intended, the ability for a patient to have this data at their fingertips on a portable device quickly and conveniently will help all parties make the best use of the technology, adding color and clarity to what is often a cold and colorless radiology review.

Life Saving App
I was dealing with elevated PSA levels for my prostate. My doctor ordered an MRI to see if the scan would pick up cancer. It was a priority of mine to find a way to get the highest quality MRI images and be able to have access to them on my iPhone and iPad. I found what turned out to be the most important app of my life, MedVizi. I contacted MedVizi to find out how I could maximize my MRI scan and how I could get the images on my iphone and iPad. They immediately instructed me how to get the best outcome in radiology. I have met with two different doctors for two different opinions. I had my MRI images on my iPad and iPhone and used MedVizi to view my results at the appointments. The quality of my MRI images and the ease of use of the MedVizi viewer app allowed me to not only identify key areas that might mean cancer with my own eyes but also allowed the clinicians to see higher quality images than they had access to on their own clinical system. This app allows a patient to be able to be involved with critical lifesaving information. And gives the patient true ownership of radiology test results. Download the MedVizi App if you are scheduled for any radiology scans and contact MedVizi and they will let you know exactly how to get the highest quality images and how to download them. MedVizi is critical to giving me information that can save my life or increase the quality of life while managing health issues. We legally own the scans we get in a radiology clinic. MedVizi makes sure that radiology gives us the best possible resolution of mages available with current technology and the MedVizi viewer allows us to see 3D color renderings of those images so our doctor/surgeon can make the right decisions and get the best outcomes!!!

Horrible! Doesn’t work
Horrible doesn’t work
Almost entirely worthless
This program provides no way to import a study from iCloud or local files. Thus, it is almost entirely useless if what you want to do is look at your own MRI/CT scan data files.
The user interface is counterintuitive, ugly, and poorly designed. Instead of using standard iOS/iPad OS controls and paradigms, it reinvents these basic UI elements and does so badly.
NOT recommended.

Response from developer
We recently enhanced the UI and always appreciate detailed feedback. We'd be happy to prepare your MRI/CT's Michael. For more info, please see http://www.medvizi.com/ios/support/index.htm
