Great and fun adventure.

I was a little bit hesitant to spend money on the app and I didn’t know what to expect but let me tell you…. It was worth every penny!!!
This app is very easy to use. It is super informative, engaging and fun. Not only that it suggests where to stop and what to see but also it’s full of fun facts, history and interesting stories and legends about the island and the people. It kept us engaged and entertain for a whole road trip.
I strongly recommend it to everyone. It is better than any guided group tour. You can drive and explore at your own pace, stop where you want and see things that you like.

One thing… please make an update as the road passed Kipahulu is closed until further notice and you can’t get around the island.

Disappointed

I love the book, so naturally thought the app would be the B perfect compliment. There is nothing, like a sound, signifying when you arrive at a location he's talking about, like there is on the Guide Along app (formerly Gypsy Guide). So that, coupled with the occasional lack of Mile markers and inability to turn around when necessary, made us miss a bunch, make it hard to follow. I knew I should have used the other app.

Amazing app that we are certain we could not have done without!! Saved us so much time! We really enjoyed Andrew’s narrative! Gold standard for driving tour

We have used the Revealed tour books for several trips, but Summer 2023 was the first time we used the driving apps. Our Hana Highway experience was so much better because of this driving app. The precise locations and directions made navigation easy, and we loved the fact it outright advised to not do certain stops over others. The historical and cultural pieces to the audio were also excellent and it was enjoyed by my wife, 12-year old son and me.

Fantastic fantastic fantastic

This is my first time in Hawaii. I was very anxious about driving to Hana. This app made me feel as if I am driving with a friend guiding me through the mountains. 100% accurate. I enjoyed it and guess what, even my teenager sons enjoyed it. Saved us a-lot of time even when google map was not working because there is no internet coverage along the road. So make sure to get it before you leave and unzip the package. Andrew narration is an absolute joy!!!

An amazing journey to Hana and beyond with this app!

I don’t usually review apps, but this one deserves a mention. If you are driving the road to Hana this app is worth the purchase! Our family loved listening to Andrew as he narrated the journey! It made the trip really interesting! We did a different driving tour (on CD) 20 years ago and this app was even better! Loved it! Andrew’s recommendations of where to stop are top notch and love the recommendations of when to slow down for cattle gates and when to absolutely stop and look. The app works well and is easy to use. What a great adventure and app!

Great content - issues with GPS operation

Started great and then app crashed on iPhone 13 Pro Max. Could get neither Hawaii revealed to open nor the drive app while on the Hana road. Finally after multiple reboots got the apps up - seemed like no cell service was the issue. We managed the balance of the drive by manually clicking the comments as our gps location dot moved with us. It was great but would have been Soooo much better had it been an automatic thing
Content was an A+ App functionality was a C maybe.

Aloha ebony dude, Sorry you had issues with your GPS function. The app should be able to work while in drive mode - especially if the blue dot was moving. Can you please drop us a line as we want to know if you were in drive or browse mode - when you downloaded the app and a few other items. Fantastic Companion

What a fantastic job creator did on this app. Enjoyable and witty commentary, great recommendations, history lessons. Best part is gps kicks off commentary automatically. Well worth the cost to add to your enjoyment of this amazing drive. Recommendation…start early! Oh and do pay attention, at one point my gps got a little wonky and put me in middle of the ocean. Restart app quickly resolved the issue.

Great tour of Hana

If you’ve read Andrew Dougherty’s excellent Maui Revealed book you’ll recognize some of the passages that are read during the tour. That said, having the information all laid out as you drive is very helpful and Andrew adds the usual wit and colour you’ll find in his books.

Like Andrew I also highly recommend doing the full loop of Haleakala, it was an incredible drive with too many sights to mention!
