The user only needs to hold up a QR code so that the reader can scan it, and the elevator automatically recognizes where to pick up the passenger, as well as the destination floor. Anyone with a smartphone can generate their own codes with the free Elevator pass app, or send them to someone else via a text message or email. They can also be printed out if needed. In addition, these codes can be saved in applications such as Apple Wallet and Google Pay, and be used without the need for WiFi or mobile network coverage.
