Description of GRE Vocabulary Cartoons

Learn GRE vocabulary quickly and actually have fun doing it with my cartoon flashcards! I bet this app will make you smile or laugh at least once. My name is Vince Kotchian, and I've been a GRE prep tutor since 2008. In this app, I've created flashcards for over 1300 GRE words and 160 word roots. Each vocab flashcard has a silly cartoon, a clear definition of the word with an example sentence, and a memorable mnemonic to make it easier to remember the word. Here's a mnemonic example so you know what I'm talking about: "prodigal" means "wasteful". The prodigal Prada gal spent $1500 on a pair of Prada boots. Get it? :) The app's smart spaced repetition system shows you words when you need to review them to make your GRE vocabulary studying more efficient and effective. There's also a streak feature to help keep you motivated to use the app consistently. Download it today and start improving your GRE verbal score! Reviews of GRE Vocabulary Cartoons

  • Absolutely love, however how often is it updated

I love this app it’s the best way to memorize new words. However my concern is I’m not seeing a lot of these words on the gre tests (however I’m in early stages of studying). How frequently is the app updated to reflect more recent gre words

    Developer Response

Hey Tyler - unfortunately there is no way to update the app to reflect the current GRE, since the GRE is a black box. They don’t tell us which words they test. No one has access to that information. Like most apps, ours is based on words from all the official practice material. The good news is that it doesn’t matter if the app’s words appear on the practice tests you’re taking - all that counts is how many show up on your real GRE!
  • Great app

Would be cool if you could select cards and put them into multiple separate reviewable decks instead of just having the normal and removed cards. For example I’d like to create an easy, medium and hard deck for myself to be able to review.

    Developer Response

Glad you enjoying the app! And thanks for the suggestion - I’ll run that by our developers next time we look at making changes to the app.
  • GRE Vocab review

Even though it’s cheap, it’s not worth it. It’s difficult to memorize and you need synonyms not just definitions. I was much better off studying from gremat’s blackdeathon sets 1-32 of each set containing 30 words in Quizlet. So try that before you try this.
