Our church was organized in 1938 in Miami, Florida, as the Shiloh
Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. L. Wallace.
The church was renamed New Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in 1960,
under the leadership of the late Rev. A.M. Griffin. In addition to Pastor
Wallace and Pastor Griffin, THE LORD has given us two other great men
after HIS own heart; dedicated and determined servants to lead HIS
people: The late Rev. Dr. Arthur Jackson, Jr., former Moderator of the
Florida East Coast Missionary Baptist Association and President of the
Florida General Baptist Convention; and our current Pastor, Rev. Dr. D.L.
Powell. All of these gospel giants have contributed in their own way to the
tremendous growth in membership, ministries, and ministry of the church.
As a church, we believe in THE LIVING GOD, as FATHER, SON, and
HOLY SPIRIT. We also believe in the Bible, as the inspired, LIVING WORD
of THE LORD. Our faith in THE LORD, others, and ourselves, have
inspired and enabled us to become a beacon of hope, help, and healing in
our local community, our state, and even our nation. “It is nice to be nice”, as Pastor Jackson would say; and we strive each and every day to be "The Place of Peace." We have endured many trials in our more than 86 years of existence: The uncertainties of infancy. Economic hardships. Relocation and rebuilding. Racial tension and segregation. Losing one sanctuary to fire. Limiting our current sanctuary; and many others. THE LORD brought us through each trial. Each of our pastors have shown true leadership in face of these crises; and our church family has remained faithful and fruitful down through the years. We are grateful that you have chosen to reach out to us in this way. We encourage you to read our complete church history, as found on thisapp or on our church website @ www.newshilohmiami.com. If you are already a part
of our church family, THANK YOU for your commitment and continued
service. If you are not, we invite you to give prayerful and careful
consideration to joining us.
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine
upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance
upon thee, and give thee peace. Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
