Updating readers with NFC configuration (only for Apple devices) After updating the readers, users can securely send access credentials to NFC-enabled readers. NFC functionality provides a convenient and secure access control system for buildings or rooms. Authorized users simply need to present their NFC-enabled phone to the reader, and the NFC technology allows for a fast and wireless encrypted data transfer between the device and the reader. The reader then verifies the user's access credentials and grants or denies access accordingly. NFC technology is a reliable and efficient option for access control systems, providing enhanced security and convenience. By using NFC, access control systems can greatly improve their efficiency and help ensure secure access to buildings and rooms.

• Importing and applying configuration files to BlueDiamond readers: With this version of the BlueDiamond Toolkit app, you can import and apply configuration files to available readers. The configuration files will determine how the specific readers are formatted and behave. Multiple readers can be configured using default configuration files or files that are fully configurable by your organization. • Get authorization credentials using a mobile number: You can now receive authorization credentials and login into the BlueDiamond Toolkit app using a mobile phone number. In the previous versions of the BlueDiamond Toolkit app the user received an email with a 26-digit authorization code and a four-digit PIN, but in this version the app you can acquire authorization credentials via a mobile phone number and a short six-digit verification code. This makes it much easier and simpler to start using the BlueDiamond Toolkit app.

This version introduces the ability for a user/technician to ‘reauthorize’ the BlueDiamond Toolkit to be used on another system Owner account without having to uninstall and then re-install the Toolkit app. We have also added a feature to assign a reader a name that has already been assigned. If a reader needs to be replaced, the technician may install a new reader and assign the existing name to the new reader.

Description of BlueDiamond™ Toolkit

The BlueDiamond™ Toolkit mobile application is a convenient way for installers to commission BlueDiamond multi-technology readers from a mobile device. The commissioning process has been simplified by eliminating the need for a Bluetooth® dongle in order to commission readers. Connection to the multi-technology readers is achieved by using Bluetooth technology from the mobile device. • No Bluetooth dongle requirement The BlueDiamond Toolkit mobile application does not require a Bluetooth dongle to commission BlueDiamond multi-technology readers. Connection to the readers is done using a Bluetooth mobile device. • Assign use- friendly names to BlueDiamond readers (commissioning) With the BlueDiamond Toolkit mobile application, installers can assign a “friendly name” to a reader making it available for use with BlueDiamond mobile credentials. • Modify/Update existing readers With the Update option installers can scan for readers that have already been commissioned at a location. Installers can modify reader settings, un-assign or re-assign readers using a different name. • Commission BlueDiamond multi-technology mobile-ready readers BlueDiamond mobile-ready readers will be appear in the mobile application as known devices that have no license. These readers will be able to be scanned and commissioned within the application once a License Meter has been enabled. The BlueDiamond platform offers a complete, next-generation access control experience, with multi-technology readers, a feature-rich mobile app and mobile credentials. BlueDiamond mobile credentials offer a touchless access experience, enabling building occupants to eliminate a significant number of access touch points by turning smartphones into secure access control devices. Important Notes: 1. Use of the BlueDiamond Toolkit mobile application requires BlueDiamond multi-technology readers and the app must be authorized to use Bluetooth on your mobile device. 2. For end users, use of the BlueDiamond mobile app requires that the organization have BlueDiamond multi-technology readers and the ability to issue BlueDiamond mobile credentials.

  • Good start

It’s a great easy to use app to work on blue diamond readers. The only reason I am giving it 2 stars is because it likes to lose authentication at random times and then I have to get a new code and to do this over and over when your trying to do a couple hundred readers adds unnecessary time to the process.
