Color blocks :-/

I was playing Castle Crumble (same developer, and also in Arcade) and thought I’d give this a try, and - for me - way not as good.

This game relies on color matching your cannonball to the brick color, then deletes all the contiguous bricks of that color. As a colorblind person, that’s an unnecessary frustration rather than a fun addition. But it also moves away from the damage relying solely on the physics engine, and I prefer that vs the color matching game. Those that like the color matching games will probably like this version more.

Other than that, it seems very similar to Castle Crumble; same progress path, same 5 tabs along the bottom, probably even a lot of the same art. So if you like Castle Crumble and like color matching games, you may like this too. (If you tried this and don’t like color matching games, try their other title, Castle Crumble.)

Response from developer

Hi FM_M, thank you for your feedback! We aimed to make our game accessible for all players, which is why we added symbols on bricks and cannonballs to help you identify your targets easily. If you have any other suggestions or changes in mind to enhance the game, please reach out to us at support@orbitalknight.com. Thank you for playing!

Very addicting. But controls need a lot of work.

At first, it seemed way too easy to knock down huge walls of blocks. But it turns out to be really addicting. My biggest complaint is that the controls are not very good. Apple visions eye tracking is not precise enough given the size of the blocks, and it’s very common to accidentally click in the wrong area. It’s very frustrating that this game responds by shooting off and waste my ball for no reason. Why let me take an action that has no effect?

It feels like this game isn’t even trying. I’ll be looking at the rotation control, and it will shoot and waste a ball.

I would strongly suggest disabling, shooting the ball on misclicks, and or making the spire much bigger as in the Apple Vision Pro guidelines for minimum area for an object to be clickable.

Thanks for the review. We encourage you to update your game. We have fixed bugs, added new levels and special events. We hope you will give it a try and give us 5 stars! -Maria from Orbital Knight

It keeps sending me back to the initial opening screen.

I’ve gone as far as completing all levels in the 6th Kingdom. Now I can’t even get to the third or fourth kingdom without getting reset back to Zero. It doesn’t seem to matter what level I’m on. Spire Blast has sent me back to zero 6 or 7 times now. Even with the iCloud backup on. It doesn’t help. This always happens after I’ve collected the 12,000 points needed to buy all 3 Boosters from the Alchemist shop, so that I always have an extra one of each at the beginning of every level. Apple support says they can not help, even though it is an Apple Arcade game. It doesn’t seem to matter to them. Apple support told me I had to contact the developer myself. I’ve made several attempts, and I cannot figure out how to contact the Developer. So, I’m writing this the problem down here in hopes that the Developer sees this and fixes the issue. I love this game. If it were not for this glitch, I would definitely give it 5 stars. It’s just become too frustrating.

Fun but gets repetitive quickly

Good fun but the gameplay never varies and the levels are all the same concept.

Good if you don’t want to think too hard.

Terrible execution, good idea

Initially I was so excited to find this game and then was so painfully disappointed. The game concept is fantastic and satisfying. Unfortunately the mechanics are awful. The features physically overlap so you think you’re spinning the tower or aiming at a low row, but instead you’re changing the block color. It’s extremely difficult to even fire at the bottom row a lot. Then if you’re on a timed level and get close to the end of the timer, it will vibrate to warn you. However, if you don’t win the level the vibrating doesn’t stop until you exit the app or start a new level. You won’t notice these issues on the early levels so much but as the game gets more difficult it will ruin your ability to play functionally.

I don’t know what the story is

The opening video stopped playing after the dragon flew over the red cube. I waited but it never played. It did recognise skipping, I closed the game and reopened and it didn’t show it again.

I would appreciate knowing what the story is when there was an attempt at making a story.

Hi LinkShack, thank you for your interest in learning the Spire Blast story! We apologize for the video not showing completely in the game, we will keep this in mind when working on updates in the future.

Amazing game just one thing…

I really like this game but it would be awesome if you could add different routes which allows you to go to different worlds depending on which route you’ve chosen but can always as well as going on one route go to the other! In total I would still love this game without but I thought it could just give a load of new stories to the game and allow the people playing to have a decision, not, in the shooting part.

Thanks! Love the game

Awesome.

Are you high and neurodivergent? This game is for you.

Love this game but my saves have been wiped twice now

This is one of my all-time favourite recent games. Unfortunately twice now when I logged in my progress had gone back to the start. Last time I just ran through all the levels again, since it had been a while since I’d played them all. This time it’s just demoralising - so soon after the last time a few weeks ago. All my achievements show in the game centre, but my progress and stars etc have all reset.
