Was great when I started. I then accidentally deleted it and was not able to redownload the content.
Pls update the app!!
I love this app, I’ve learned so much from it, but with the new IOS update all the images and audio has been wiped out, which is crucial to my learning. I need to hear how to properly pronounce words and with this error my learning has come to a stand still, please look into this matter and update the app. Thanks

Dialects
I have been focusing on Chiricahua dialect but this is probably the closest I’ll find app wise. I know some Chiricahua lived at San Carlos and a few went back I think in the 1900s if I’m not mistaken. At least it’s not like with Mandan and Hidatsa where several dialects were spoken in one home when only a few hundred survived the diseases. I had trouble with Navajo on duolingo because it requires exact spelling of words including accent marks but I’m sure I’ll make good use of this either way. Thanks

A wonderful effort! Hopeful for app improvements.
I'm grateful for this pioneering effort to create a vocabulary app for the benefit of Apache language learners everywhere! The mere fact that this is one of the few apps available to learn some Apache (and likely the only app currently available to learn the San Carlos dialect of Western Apache) makes it invaluable, especially in this day and age when mobile devices are a primary tool for learning and communication. Overall, I found the lists of vocabulary words to be exciting and relevant. The audio recordings of native speakers pronouncing the words, and the attention to spelling words consistently using the Apache alphabet and diacritics, were welcome features.
However, there remain improvements to be made. To me, these largely pertain to the design of the software interface. I'll describe my observations mostly in the form of feature requests.
* I want to be able to study word lists in the Learning mode in any order I want. I found it tedious and arbitrarily rigid to have to complete the vocabulary learning in the prescribed order. For example, the user is required to first learn words for wild animals, then domesticated animals, then drinks, then food, in that exact order. There is no way in the Learning mode to skip ahead to a category that might be more immediately relevant to a user, such as numbers, or "Useful Phrases", or "My Family". Attempts to click to later lists are blocked and results in the error message, "You have to unlock previous step!"
* I'd like the Spelling round to show you the correct spelling of a word when you get it wrong. Right now, if you spell the word incorrectly, the app issues a sound effect indicating failure, and you can proceed to the next word, but eventually you will circle back to try the word you spelled incorrectly last time, but it's unlikely you will be able to complete the task if you really don't know how to spell the word. So I felt the goal of "learning" in this mode was defeated by the game dynamics.
* I want to be able to mark a vocabulary word as a Favorite so that I can easily review words that are personally relevant without having to open up an entire vocabulary word category again later.
* I'd like the buttons for multiple choice questions to be a lot bigger. During the Learning and Review modes, you are often asked to answer multiple-choice questions. However, the buttons for the four choices are very small and close together, so I observed my family member constantly pushing the wrong button even when she knew the answer, and I see this as an interface design issue. It seems like a relatively easy improvement to make the buttons much larger, so that they are easier to tap.
* The Notes mode should include a custom keyboard function to allow you to type using Apache letters and diacritics. Otherwise, it offers little benefit over simply launching the mobile device's built-in notetaking app. Also, it is just one giant scratchpad, with no ability to save multiple sheets of notes. I realize this is not likely a main focus of the app, but it is so underdeveloped that I have to wonder who would possibly have use for it in its current form.
* It would be nice if the Download New Words function in the About tab helped you know whether you already have the latest word updates with a version number.
Well, I hope I have managed to review this app fairly and thoroughly. I'd like to thank the developers and contributors for all of their efforts in preserving and promoting the Apache language, and truly hope to see some of these improvements and feature requests implemented in this app. Ahíyi’e! (Thank you!)
