Phenomenal!
I really like this game! I recently started poking around the mobile racing genre after years of absence, and I was delighted to find this game. It’s extremely approachable (especially for someone like myself that doesn’t have a strong racing vocabulary beyond Mario Kart), very fun, appropriately challenging, and the graphics are quite delightful in their cartoony realism. The time I’ve spent with this game so far has been great, and I look forward to more!

Fun but could be better
I like the game, but the developers from over a year ago said they’d be working on optimizing the game which they didn’t. I’m running an iPad Pro 4th gen. Immediately upon starting the game I noticed frame rate issues.
Finally, Why not make it easier to play online w other racers? Is the community that small? Let’s do this!

Same problem as H Chase 1
Just like Horizon Chase 1… it was so much fun until you end up stuck on a route that’s just too difficult, and you can’t proceed. I played the same routes in UAE over and over, but they were just too hard, and I couldn’t get enough points to get to get next country. It was no longer fun, so I quit playing. Now the same with 2. The “Boiling Ravines” route is almost impossible. I managed first or second place on almost all the previous routes, and I had so much fun. This route, I can’t get better than 9th place and I crash on too many curves. If I go slower so I don’t crash, I come in 15th or worse. I’ve tried several different cars, and it was the same problem. The game stopped being fun! It’s too frustrating. I’ll try a couple more times and probably quit 2 just like I quit 1. Who wants to play a GAME THAT ISN’T FUN? (Maybe give us a way to skip a route we just can’t win?)

Retro Dreams
I was obsessed with Top Gear as a kid and Horizan
Chase 2 is an absolute dream as it finally reaches its glorious modern potential. The thrill of blasting turbo at hyperspeed while cranking 90’s techno synth has never been better. What was once just a matte painting on the horizon is now a gorgeously colourful 3D track with different terrain, iconic locations and shifting weather patterns ripped straight from the 80s classic. This finally feels like a world tour. So stoked they brought back the original composer and can’t wait for more.

Great game, but v-sync still doesn't work on mac!
I love this game. The gorgeous art stye, hype music, and crazyfast twitchy speed make it a unique experience. It's one of my favorite apple arcade games.
BUT! After all this time, they still haven't got v-sync working on the mac, which leads to judder and tearing while playing. If I run the metal HUD overlay I can see the game is running at 75-80fps on my 60hz monitor, despite v-sync being enabled in the settings. In fact, the video settings don't appear to do anything at all. Changing the resolution doesn't make any visible difference to the image.
BUT!! I certainly enjoy playing it on apple tv. It's so beautiful and colourful. Each new location is such a treat for the eyes... if you can catch it as you whip around the track at breakneck speed!

Great Game
A very fun game, fast paced and very exhilarating.
Had no sound at start, but after a few force closes and restarts the issue has gone away, apologies for not updating review sooner.

Great sequel but…
I 120%ed Horizon Chase 1 on Switch, iPhone, and PC and I’m now 90% through Horizon Chase 2. Horizon Chase 2 is better in almost every way except the upgrade system.
The problem is that in order to upgrade a car, you need to drive it. However, what happens is you end up getting to the end of the campaign with a few fully upgraded cars and the rest at very low levels.
If you want to go back and level up the rest of your cars, they’re going to be very slow which makes them much worse for the end game challenges you have left to complete. The solution would have been to allow you to use xp points earned from any car to upgrade any other car so you don’t need to grind your unviable, slow cars just to get them up to par with the end game content.
Cosmetic unlocks could still be locked to driving the specific car, but performance upgrades should not.

Well, there was an update today… and the game still has no sound, and continues to crash in ‘Playground’ and ‘Tournaments’ mode as soon as you cross the finish line (especially, if you are in 1st place).

I really enjoy this game, but it is riddled with bugs (especially on tv).
First off, after the Arcade logo appears, the game goes completely silent. Restarting the game a few times, or accessing Control Center, usually corrects this; I’ve played several races with no audio at all. Next, many times—especially after completing a race in multiplayer mode—the game crashes. In conjunction with that, you are never given any rewards even if you win first place. Also, when selecting the ‘Rewards’ tab, the game freezes, and you have to restart it again.
The game is extremely fun when it works, but these bugs make it a bit infuriating. Not to mention, I recently did a clean install of the software on all of my devices (iPhone, iPad, tv) and these bugs still persist. I really hope these issues get corrected ASAP because this is the Arcade racing game I’ve been logging for.
