Changing the game!
I recently started using the "First Rounds on Me" dating app, and I have to say, my experience has been fantastic! From the moment I signed up, I was impressed by the user-friendly interface and the thoughtful design that makes navigating the app a breeze.
One of the standout features of this app is the unique concept of offering a "first round" as a way to break the ice. It’s a playful and engaging way to encourage real-life meetups, and it definitely adds an exciting twist to the traditional online dating scene. I've had some great conversations and even went on a few fun dates that I wouldn't have experienced otherwise. Missing some key features
Great concept but lacking in a few places — gender, pronouns, and date scheduling.
I love that you can choose “other” as your gender but when choosing who you’re interesting in dating, you can only choose one gender or all. Personally, I’m interested in men and “other” but not women. I can choose one or “everyone” (which includes women) which makes swiping kind of a waste of time.
A simple, optional “pronouns” field would be nice to have. Not everyone has to fill it out but if those of us who use nonstandard pronouns to identify would like to, we could.
Lastly, you’re only able to schedule a date as far out as the end of the current week. It’s currently the week of Thanksgiving so obviously this week doesn’t work for most people. My only options are to offer a date and time that I know won’t work or pass on this person altogether? At the very least make it a two week window.

The App that defines “MEH”
Seems like a good idea on the surface. However, I have found a few different issues that impact the experience: 1) I indicated that i am a guy seeking another guy, but you can’t tell if the person is seeking the same as there are profiles stating that they are seeking women. 2) It only allows you to register your location once and once it’s registered it cannot be changed so you only see profiles in that area. 3) Customer service is non responsive to inquiries sent to them.

Too many spammy accounts
Recently, I’ve been getting a lot of “date requests” from spammy accounts that put their WhatsApp or Telegram phone number in their bio asking you to message them there. I know they’re spam because their bios have poor grammar on them. I even had one “date request” from someone who was using pornstar Natasha Nice’s pictures as their own but under a different name. If this doesn’t get fixed, I’m going to be deleting my account soon. This app has a lot of potential and I’d hate to do that. I have screenshots to show you what I’m talking about.

An app made for the people who really just don’t have time to waste and are sick of people on dating apps for the wrong reasons, this app really allows you see if you connect as quick as possible and at least get to know someone new even if there is no romantic connection. when are you going to add snacks to the date type?!

Dumpster fire of an app
I matched and set a date, but it won’t display her picture, just a gray background because it won’t load the image. It did the same failure to display on my bio when I tried uploading an additional picture. It’s now less than 24 hours and the chat *should* have opened but instead it’s telling me it opens in -5987 seconds. It’s not even the correct number of seconds past the start, maybe 30 seconds before it was only -5700. I literally have zero clue who I’m supposed to meet and have no way to coordinate figuring that out because this app is so horribly buggy. Who knows if she even saw my pictures either. It used to work ok prior to the mandatory update. Whoever is in charge of this refresh should be fired, did they not do any beta testing before pushing this out? Edit: mysteriously the chat suddenly started working about an hour after I left the previous review… did not receive any responses and she did not show, no clue if she ever even saw my messages or attempted to write back. When I went to remove her connection, the app immediately logged me out and when I signed back, she was still there. Clicking report this account button immediately crashes the app. Everything about this app is just broken. Also, did you know they display your last name to matches? Huge privacy violation. Do not join this app!

Deleted my account
I live near Scottsdale Arizona. I took the time to create an account, and after that spent many hours swiping trying to get a connection. About a week or two goes by and I click on the app and see that I’m signed out. I try signing in with my Apple ID, and with my phone number. Both say user does not exist. Which basically means they deleted my account for some reason. Thank you for wasting my timewith no exclamation. Terrible app do not use unless you want your time wasted. You won’t find anyone on here.
EDIT: I received a response, and no, my account has not been restored. I just tried logging in and it still says my account doesn’t exist. Whatever you did did not fix my issue.

Released my personal info and won’t let me log in
This app just continues to get worse. I was prompted to update the app yesterday morning. Since doing so, i am unable to log in. I have tried both my phone number and Apple sign in, but am told “user does not exist”. Frustrating, I thought, as i had two dates this week and now I have no way of contacting.
It gets worse…. Last night I got an Instagram message from someone I matched with. I did not share my Instagram account on the app, so naturally I was a bit concerned. When I asked him how he got my Instagram, I learned that after the update, the app decided to add everyone’s last name (at least mine and the person who messaged me) to their profile. He sent me a screen shot and, sure enough, there I am with my full legal name.
I emailed customer support and am still unable to log in to delete my account. Meanwhile, I am continuing to receive unwanted Instagram messages from creeps due to this unauthorized release of information. Unacceptable. PLEASE FIX THIS SO I CAN DELETE MY ACCOUNT.

Not available in many areas
I was super excited to see how this app ends up working for me. however it’s only available in a few select cities. Nothing against the app just a forewarning that unless you live in the select cities you won’t even be able to create a profile. I will definitely be using this app when it’s available in my area.
Update still not available in my location but I keep getting notifications to set up an account. I think this would be a good app for me if it was available in Seattle.

Too buggy but great concept
UPDATE 7/7/24: Since the most recent app update, it’s prompting me to create a new account! So either my account was deleted or they’re having login issues 🤯🤯 so frustrating!!! Please fix this and let me login!
Great for actually going on dates. But very buggy and no responses to my support requests! Main problem: The app crashes when you try to view someone who asked you out on the same day that you already have a date. So it’s impossible to move it or even look at their profile. Very sad since you’re completely missing out on someone who invited you!! Sometimes after sending an invite or sending your interest, nothing happens so you have to close the app and reopen it to refresh. Chat messages don’t update in real time. For example I was waiting for someone to confirm and finally just sent a message myself and then their message popped up but they had sent it 20 minutes earlier 😒😒. It just hadn’t shown up. So the notifications overall are really wonky. You also can’t zoom in on profile photos which is a bummer. Overall lots of improvements to be made…. But it is much better than other apps to actually meet people.
