  • A subscription for a service? Really?

My wife and I have the same thing set up with a google drive doc. Thought I’d give the app a try to see if it was a little cleaner.

So I had this installed for just under 3 minutes. The whole premise of the app is a SHARED grocery list. But to share it with my wife requires a monthly subscription. Seriously?!?

It’s a shopping list. I could see a one time charge of 2-3 dollars, but a subscription to use the base function of the app?

Don’t get me wrong, if you think paying every month to do the same thing you can do-easily-for free is a good idea, then this is probably a great app for you. For everyone else, you probably want to skip this particular offering.
  • Excellent, full featured, but could be improved

First I really appreciate the syncing to all my devices. I also appreciate making lists for multiple stores. Really handy.

The app has a lot of features, but is missing one key input, the number of an item. If you want 2 or 3 of an item, you have to either add it in the description, e.g, Coffee (3), or add it in the notes section, which requires a jump to the bottom on the editing screen and is not informative on the “list” screen (have to tap the note icon to read it.) It would be nice to have a # Input field next to or preferably in front of the item description on both the input screen and the list screen. This info is critical when different people are making/shopping the list.

Also, why not have a quick entry function on the list screen, rather than having to hit the + sign and filling out the item screen. Just have a blank entry row with two fields, one for the number and one for the item description, appear at the bottom of the list after each time an item is entered. Tapping on it would bring up the keyboard for a quick entry, hit return and the next blank row appears, etc.

Let’s try to reduce the number of taps, screen jumps, etc., when standing in front of the refrigerator or pantry cabinet trying to make a grocery list with one hand.

Lastly, I don’t see any sort function for the list. They way the items are entered, e.g., when looking in the fridge, in the freezer, in the pantry, in the cabinet/cupboard, in the second fridge, etc., is usually dramatically different from the way the items are shopped for, e.g., by grocery aisle or department. Being able to make the listing, then tap on “Edit” to change the sort order of the list would be terrific.

    Just some thoughts for improvements.
  • My favorite shared grocery list maker!

I use this app all the time! Whenever I run out of my usual grocery items like milk or bread, I just open the app and make a note. Then when I shop for the items at the store later, it’s easy to check them off and start the process over.

I used to do household organizing/planning with paper and pen, but now I can just use Shared Grocery and Siri. With the snooze feature, I can even use it as a todo list or memo!
  • The most convenient shared grocery list app

This app helps my family and Me remember which grocery items we need to buy, but the best part is that it saves so much time. Since the assistant filters items by store, it’s really fast to add items, especially with auto-complete which seems to be more personalized than in other grocery list apps.

It doesn’t have too many fancy features, but it has all the ones we need, which is perfect.

It’s so intuitive that even my mom and dad have started using it instead of a handwritten grocery list. And the best part is that we can all share the same household list!
  • Best Grocery List App Ever!

I have been using this app every time I shop and can’t say enough about how great it is! I have become more efficient and organized, not just at the grocery store, but I use this app to organize my shopping experience in other stores as well. It’s the easiest app I’ve ever used and would recommend it to anyone who values their time and energy.
  • Works great as a shared shopping list and family organizer

Our family has been using Shared Grocery since it was in beta and the app works great! It’s a lot faster to add items with it than with other grocery shopping apps thanks to its smart assistant feature. We love the clean and simple UI.

We remember to buy recipe ingredients and household items more consistently now, especially since we can see items we bought in the past and when we last bought them. We use that feature to check when we might be running out of food items.

    A great app, 12/10!
  • One less thing to worry about.

I always forget things, even when I write them down. This app helps me keep track of what I need.
