Ruined by ads

This app used to be the best mpd client on iOS, but a recent update added obnoxious audio ads that interrupt songs. I understand that the developers need to make money but there are ways to do ads that do not interrupt the audio stream (especially not halfway through a song). This app is basically unusable now unless you are willing to pay for a subscription.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback. We understand that the introduction of audio ads has been frustrating, and it's important for us to clarify that these ads help support ongoing app development and maintenance costs, including the App Store fees that we've covered ourselves for the past four years. Your acknowledgment of our app as the best MPD client on iOS means a lot to us, and we are committed to balancing a great user experience with the financial sustainability of the app. We truly appreciate your support and encourage users to consider the subscription option, which helps us continue delivering a high-quality product. If you have any suggestions on how we could enhance your experience, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at support@mpdpilot.app. We value your input and are always looking for ways to make MPD Pilot even better for everyone.

Easy to use MPD client on iOS platform

UI is professional and presentation is good. I am happy using it

Best MPD Controller by far

I’ve used a few of these MPD controllers, and this is the best I’ve found…. so far. Work’s brilliantly on my old iPhone 8.

Best free MPD client

Solid app!

Having queue management problems

I’ve started having queue problems, like I select “replace queue and play” but it doesn’t clear the queue. Sometimes I have to manually clear the queue before I can play something else. Was working fine a year ago, it unusable now. Not sure if problem is MPD Pilot or my MPD server.

Minor addition suggestion.

Would be nice to have "consume mode" setting for MPD enabled. May be placed next to Clear Playlist command. Should be easy to implement, just a command sent to the server and will add more control over the queue. Just a thought. :)
In general it is a very good app. I often use it and it proved to be a reliable tool for streaming with MPD.

Response from developer

Thank you for the kind words! We have added support for consume and single modes in version 3.3.0! Check it out and let us know what do you think :)

More features please

I want to thank you for your time to create this great app, please add more futures like, “use now playing control”, “advanced search” for example search by source ie Soundcloud or files, “like tracks”, …

This is the one

This is a very polished app that provides both remote control for the mpd server and a client that actually plays its stream. Most applications out there (including non-free ones) only provide the remote control functionality. And don’t have the native iOS feel and simplicity of interface MPD Pilot provides.

Stuck on setup screen

Could never get beyond the server setup screen, although the connection was successful. Waste of time. Please test your apps before publishing.

Response from developer

What version of MPD server you're trying to connect? Does the server require password? Have you tried the newest 2.1.0 version of MPD Pilot? Consider sketching an e-mail to support@mpdpilot.app with more details, we're open to resolve your issue. Thank you for your feedback!

Lacking many essential features

Many features that are standard in other MPD clients are absent here, including the ability to add multiple soundtracks at the same time to the queue, as well as the ability to manage playlists. If these functionalities are present, they should not be so obfuscated that I haven’t found them yet.

Response from developer

We’re sorry to hear we haven’t met your expectations. The app is in continuous development and we are striving to address users’ feedback and implementing missing features. Hope you will find MPDPilot more handy in the future. Thank you for your feedback! Truly appreciate it.
