Perpetuates Xenophobia and Targeted Harassement
Why does the average person need access to an app to scan and validate residence cards? This will only breed more suspicion, intolerance, and outward hate of foreigners. (And also makes it even more ok to question anyone who doesn’t look “Japanese” about where they’re from)

The immigration bureau claims it's for small businesses only to check, but they are ADVERTISING THIS APP IN THE TRAIN STATIONS HERE!!!
That means, they are encouraging all private citizens to play immigration enforcement. It's a clear violation of privacy even if MOJ claims they aren't obtaining information from the app. TAKE IT DOWN!!!

An app to validate xenophobia?
This app allows anyone—not just authorized government officials—to scan a foreigner's resident card to check their visa status. Even worse, it gives access to highly personal information to ANYONE with this app, whether or not they have authorization or need to do so. This app is a gross violation of privacy, encourages racism and xenophobia, and needs to be removed from the app store immediately.
