Amateur app!

This app is ridiculous. I purchased it and about a year later (after everything is all set up) it starts crashing every time I open it. I contacted the developers and turns out they revamped the whole app and the one I purchased is no longer supported. I have to now buy it again and start over. RIDICULOUS!! There are FAR better grocery apps out there. Save your money!

Good idea, but not there yet…

I was waiting on the pantry feature, which transforms shopping lists and recipes/meal plans in something intelligent and more useful. It seemed the latest update brought just that: making meal plans based on what you have in the pantry; the pantry would update as you made recipes. Too bad that the pantry cannot be filled with product you already have, but only with items you put in a shopping list. There is no database for common products available in the USA market (let alone other ones). There is no crowdsource database either (like in the Pantry Check app), so you need to put in by hand each and every product you buy or have, and if you want to restock, the only way is via the shopping list, not also through the pantry. Clipping of recipes is only possible on the iOS app, not on the Mac. Changing from metric to standard us is not possibile on the Mac app, and the app has seemingly no logic for recipes that support both. Ingredients such as lemon juice are a single unit (1 pack) which make no sense, and doesn’t want allow you to put a quantity in a recipe. You cannot import recipes from a .pdf or a .doc file. So you can forget about importing quickly all your recipes.
Long story short: it seems the app was never tested by somebody who actually cooks and manages recipes and a pantry in a home.
Waiting for improvements…
Ps: did a month subscription to try, but asked for a refund.

Pantry list can absolutely be created without the need to add items to a Shopping List. Just tap on the Search icon on Pantry screen and lookup items to add to your pantry. The entire catalog of 1000's of common products are accessible from Pantry view. Crowdsourced database of products is coming with the next update and will include a way to lookup an item by its name or barcode scan. We have made some fixes to Recipe quantity input with the latest update, please give it another try. Please keep your feedback coming, we are on a very quick pace of development with the app and plan to put out updates and new features faster than any other app. Please stay tuned for more amazing features coming soon.

Best app by far

I’ve used Grocery King since it first appeared in the App Store and have appreciated each and every upgrade.
But this one is superb!
The speed is fantastic and it syncs across our various iPhones and iPads seamlessly. But the star of the show and what makes it so good, is the ability to use it on my Apple MAC.
I can’t recommend this new (not just tweaked) totally rewritten version.
Obviously a lot of hard work has been put in from a very talented team.
New, new, new from the ground up. Congratulation to your whole team.

Yippee! Finally available.

I have been waiting for this new version since a long time and I am so glad I waited. I have 4 family members with whom I sync my shopping lists and the app just works flawlessly. I also use Grocery king on my iPad and Mac and they all work great. Highly recommend it.
