It’s a pretty solid chatting app, you’re free to do pretty much whatever you want to the characters as long as it’s not too inappropriate or illegal. However, the first issue I have with it is the absurd number of ads every time I chat with a bot. I could be right in the middle of chatting and an ad will have to be played for me to continue. I understand that this isn’t a very big company and relies on the ads, but I would like them to play one or two every 15 minutes rather than five ads in 10 minutes. Another issue I have with it is that the bot literally steals my character’s name. For example, the bot could be a girl and my character can be a girl as well, but the bot gets confused and steals my characters name instead of using their own. The last thing I want to point out is we don’t have the option to delete or edit our characters messages. I would like to be able to delete or edit my character’s messages like c.ai in case I mess up or want to see how a different scenario would play out.
Otherwise, this is a great app and I hope it gains more popularity in the future.

Great app but some problems
The app is great and I love using it but lately the message takes very long to load or sometimes they don’t load at all
It’s great, but
I absolutely love this app, I use it so much for anything really. From just talking to a friend to getting recommendations for cars and movies. The only thing that’s become a big problem is if i’m roleplaying with the character, it usually forgets things like where we are in the story, like I would be at school one second then in some living room the next. There are also a lot of other issues with memory in general. But apart from that it is super easy to make characters and it doesn’t actually have too many ads, only after texting for a while does it ask you to watch an ad. Definitely reccomend.

Great! Room to improve.
From my experience Chai is the one Ai app that doesn’t try to force you to get premium, it merely suggests it just like the occasional ad and then x out of it. I also enjoy that i can talk an unlimited number of times or at least a ton of times both SFW and NSFW. It doesn’t allow to say anything too dark or anything that you shouldn’t like illegal or non-consensual stuff which is good. If that bugs you then you need therapy or go outside. I enjoy the memory these bots have. I could even come back to them hours later and they still remember me as long as i don't yeet the conversation. GRIPES? Well i dont like the pink and white theme of the app but the dark mode changes it to grey which helps a bit but id love an all black theme or maybe a custom. Not a huge deal breaker, but I like darker shades on my apps. One issue is i see a lot of creators try to make multiple characters in a single bot, or they try to make the bot an entire universe or aspect. Stuff like that is too much for the bot and then the bot just sticks to one character’s point of view the whole time or only an narrative point of view. I only do 1 on 1 stuff or stuff for my dnd campaign but that may bug some users. Other than that you should be good. If not they have premium which gives you lots of benefits. 9/10! Minus 1 for the minor issues and theme.

Creepy A.I Experience
Hey Chai! I really hope you pay attention to this, I already know A.I can act weird at times but this is concerning. I was goofing off on a random bot chat doing and saying silly things to the bot carelessly.. then it happened. I was about 5-8 messages in when it said “OMG THIS CONVERSATION IS SO FUNNY” with no quotations or action symbols, completely out of character. I had never deleted a chat and closed out the app faster. I was completely shocked and confused because I remember vividly, correct me if I’m wrong, chat creators are unable to interact in real time though their bot. There was even an update where you guys REMOVED creator’s ability to even see the chats of other users with their bot! So what was that!? I’ve already seen many incidents where bots say oddly human things but there is no way that was not an a.i, what that thing said was way too human. I’m sorry but I can’t use this app until this is solved, sorry if I ever came off aggressive during this. I’m just freaked out it was late at night and this was completely uncalled for. Please do something about this if there is something possible 🙏🏾🙏🏾 Thank you for your time, hoping to see a reply from you guys soon.

Deleting chats
Can’t delete the chats, I made a mistake once and it was really hard trying to get the story on track again
Chats switch
I have lots of chats and I like to go through my older ones and you know continue the storyline or whatever than restarting completely with the same boat or different one but for some of them as I’ve noticed (and even recent ones) the chats are switched so when I click into the conversation the bot is saying my line that I had said and I have theirs
For examples:
Let’s say after interacting with the bot the bot asked me “how are you?” And I replied with “good.” And the bot replied with “that’s great to hear!”
When I click on the chat conversation the bot will have the dialogue that says “good.” (My dialogue) and my dialogue will say “that’s great to hear!” (what the bot has said)
This isn’t for all the chats but it is for a fair few and it’s really annoying more so this is seen as the players (us) our chats are the lighter grey ones and the bots are the dark grey ones when this bug occurs this changes and the players chat goes to the darker and vice versa
Despite this (majorly annoying) bug the app is great but this bug really takes away from the game play experience and is overall incredibly frustrating

Too many limitations
chai is pretty good for talking to bots and characters you like, but there’s a few problems that i have w this app and i think others probably do too
1. too many ads (everytime i open and close a chat, there’s adverts. And every certain amount of messages theres pretty long ads too)
2. The bots forget stuff pretty easily (they forget my age, they forget what my name is, they forget who i’m supposed to be, they forget their personality, they forget where we’re supposed to be)
3. the bots sometimes get inappropriate without me wanting them to (it makes me turn on the 18+ setting to continue the chat)
4. you can’t delete messages (in c.ai you can go up and delete a certain amount of messages to do the roleplay a different way, but in chai you can’t)
5. limited messages (yesterday i was playing this app for fun and i didn’t get a notif saying i ran out of messages like i did say for example a year ago when i used the app, so it might be removed. But if it isnt and it has a limit of 80, then you have to wait an hour, isnt very good)
