Hi, The “expressive”voices are great, however it is ruined by the constant glitches and stop starts while listening. Please can you investigate. Thank you
The best voice reader out there today
Positives:
The text to speech is flawless. You can’t tell the difference between a human and the AI. Truly impressive. Natural reader, dream reader, and others don’t even compare. I will never use another app for this.
I love the way it organizes the library
Negatives:
However, it randomly pauses sometimes. Understandable. It’s using the internet to interpret the text. But they need to dedicate more resources to this. It’s a problem sometimes. A bigger problem than other apps.
It reads footnotes. I wish there was an option to cut out footnotes, page numbers, superscripts for citations, etc.
The margin crop feature doesn’t seem to work
Wish list for future updates:
I would love it if they had the ability to download the entire book audio so I can listen on the train on my way to work. This is a feature most apps don’t have so this isn’t the fault of ReadBit
I would love a chrome browser extension
I wanted to put down some minor criticisms but I will never use another app for this. Even with those criticisms, this app is by far the best. I hope to see the company grow so they can add new features. I would even pay more for the features if they set up tiered subscription or something.

they randomly reset the app so all my documents are gone
why is the app showing that it has 15g worth of documents but none of the documenta are showing up in the app???? give them back. I collected those documents over the course of a year, and it took DAYS to organize and put them into playlists. then i open the app today and it says “syncing data” and when it finally loads all of it is just GONE. except! the app is taking up 15g of storage because of all it’s “documents and data”. and ive tried to contact someone for support or look for any reason this would happen and the most i've gotten is an email saying that someone will review my email in 3-5 business days i literally had an actual meltdown in my car for fifteen minutes because this is the one consistent thing i have to help stimulate my brain when i’m doing tasks. not impressed.

Exactly what I was looking for
I just wanted a basic free app to read me back stuff I’m writing and it delivered with the option to upgrade the voice. I may upgrade the voice but it is usable as is
Great AI voices but scan feature needs work.
I really like listening to the AI voice ‘Nova’. However, when I scan pages into my phone the app crashes and when it doesn’t crash and it successfully scans the page, it’ll make up words that aren’t words and misplace text so sentences don’t make sense. I’m not sure if that’s just a compatibility issue with my archaic iPhone XR, maybe?
The other issue is I wish I could set ‘Nova’ as my default voice instead of choosing her every time.
The interface is relatively user friendly and all in all it’s a great app. I look forward to seeing what else it can do and I hope it works out for you if you’re giving it a try! Maybe it’ll work better on a newer iPhone!

Can’t even use the app
Why does it say “Cannot recognize text on this website” if I can’t put any text in the app why would I get this app completely useless.
Battery hog, ok otherwise
Have a newish iPhone 14 Pro but with 5h of background reading it used up 66% of the battery. Gets quite warm too. Doesn’t pause playback with Siri announcements.
Works ok apart from that. Am looking for a replacement after Voicedream Reader got unstable after the iOS 17 update.
