Prefer more whole grains/customization
I started Green Chef hoping to eat more whole grains, organic and less processed food. Any pre-made ingredient (such as tortillas, flatbreads, rice, included milk/dairy) does not show you the ingredients on the meal selection page. There is no customization options for example to swap out white bread/tortillas for wheat. The tortillas I received were considered ultra processed full of preservatives, emulsifiers, etc. 40+ ingredients. I wish with how Green Chef advertised it would recognize organic is more than produce and I was hoping for healthier bread and rice options that are whole grain and less processed. Or had an option to swap them out. I have used HelloFresh which is owned by the same company and Green Chef seems to use the same flatbreads and such despite being more expensive. There is often a card included saying the organic produce had to be swapped for regular. I don’t mind that as much just something for people to know. Please offer more whole grains and less processed food in the future. Thank you!

A little disappointed
Week one - one steak inedible so much fat -
Week two - not received delivery was due Sunday midday I got it just now it was delivered to completely the wrong address - the food was kept in someone’s fist with the heating on so food is warm so not going to eat the meat or prawns - don’t ask me why they didn’t contact zedify although I tried to find their number and they didn’t open till 0900 today

Unethical Design Choices
Unless I’m missing something (which would indicate a different problem because I have looked EVERYWHERE) you need to go onto the website to cancel your subscription. This is bad practice and intentionally convoluted to get in the way of people cancelling their descriptions which feeds into the next problem: if you forget to ‘skip a week’ before there’s 5 days until your scheduled delivery, you can make NO changes to it and CANNOT return it. This is especially egregious because I put my meal plan preference as plant based and the meals it chose FOR ME by default had multiple different animal products, and now I’m stuck with them without the ability to return. This is unethical design as it chooses the meals for you and assumes you want one regardless of your input after your initial plan, and won’t let you change or cancel it after it goes through. It’s also either incompetent or malicious design that you must cancel your plan from the website, overcomplicating the process of canceling your subscription and locking people into orders that scheduled themself passively. And I won’t even get into the problems with the food here. Green Chef needs serious work, I’m happy for anyone whose life has improved due to their business but mine certainly has not.

GREAT FOOD! Keto Heaven
My first box of four meals was absolutely delicious! I did not want to have to prepare keto food myself and why would I when Green Chef is teaching me how. The instructions are easy to read and come on a large colorful hard back 7x11 card demonstrating the meal and instructions. All the meals are only 30 minutes to cook up and all the frsh organic ingredients are provided. I freeze the meat and keep the fresh bagged ingredients in the frig and when I cook it up I have enough to eat all day because it is enough for two people. Every day I wake up feeling great. Thanks to Green Chef I can eat like a real queen and enjoy weight loss - 4 lbs for me in my first week. Might be a bit pricey to start but there is no shopping, no food waste and no labor intensive thought required to prepare and cook from scratch. Worth every cent in my opinion!

Food is great with a good selection - but what have you done to the app? The home page is really bad now, can’t see what’s coming up without clicking a little arrow - and then the pics are tiny - change it back please!!
Delicious meals
A new subscriber, having received some eight meals. All of which have been a huge success. Not being red meat eaters hasn’t been a problem. Every meal, using the fantastic Recipe Cards has been a very tasty, enjoyable experience. We couldn’t realistically achieve the same level of success, any cheaper, by buying the ingredients from a Supermarket. The Sauces really are the tasty key to making me a bit of a proper Chef. All things considered, two or three meals every other week suits our needs and pocket too.

Cooking from fresh
Cooked for the first time with my daughter using the measured out ingredients and instructions. We are enjoying the variety and quality of the meals. Would definitely recommend.
Injected new life into my cooking!
I’ve used Green chef for 2 weeks now and very pleased by the ingredients, choices, cooking steps and time to cook it! I’ve used 2 other food prep companies and Green Chef by far is my favorite as they never forget the ingredients which can cause me distress (which is the last thing you want abs need when you want to enjoy a lovely meal!)
Will continue to use Green chef and will recommend to friends and family who want new inspiration when cooking! Thank you Green Chef

Changes not for the better
I’ve been getting these meals for a while now. I struggle with creating meals, so these helped. Recently, changes have made the meals less appealing. Portions have gotten smaller, menu is repetitive. It would be nice to see different fish for example. It’s always salmon, tilapia, or shrimp. Could we get some haddock perhaps? I’ve also noticed fewer items are actually organic…which is why I chose this particular service.
It’s basically $30 a meal for 2. I think I can come up with a salad bowl for much less than that. Also, I can barely look at rice these days because it is used so much in the meals. Can we have more potato options?. I stick with vegetarian meals, so I can’t speak to the other products. One last thing, the vegetable aren’t as fresh as they used to be.
I skip for weeks at a time, so until I see improvements, my participation will be very limited.

Rotten food

I canceled after 2 weeks. The first week I struggled to choose 5 good meals. None of the meals tasted good so I meant to cancel and forgot. 5 new meals automatically sent and they were basically unusable. I used hello fresh for two months and had no issues so I’m surprised to have had so many issues with green chef. The tomatoes turned into mush when I cut them so I couldn’t use them. The green onion was soggy and mushy so I had to toss it out. The chicken package had a hole in it so it was trash. I just started to cook the last meal and the garlic wasn’t sealed properly and is molding. I just threw out the kale because it was wet and mushy in the wrapping. This is my current box that was supposed to stretch 5 days. Tomorrow is the fifth day. I cancelled before the box arrived so I don’t know if they could even help me with a refund. Not to mention that I could some meals without ingredients like chicken, now garlic, etc. I had a great experience with Hello Fresh and am happy to continue my meals with them. I will never recommend green chef because whoever packaged my meals was clearly having a bad day
