Why HTTPS requirement?

Why does this app need https to connect to my own server? I know what I’m doing. I can’t set up HTTPS right now, and the app works fine on the server, so why is there this artificial limitation? I thought the whole point of open-source was to not force stupid restrictions on users and to let them do what they want, even at their own expense.

Response from developer

Hey, sorry to hear that. This isn't a limitation of the app but a server-side restriction. The API only allows HTTPS requests. This is for good reason, because E2E isn't available for the entire traffic. The iOS app has great support for handling invalid certificates, so you can use a self signed one if for example you can't set up Let's Encrypt.

Good app but lacking some features

Overall it works well the app for basic usage. I have been using now a few months but there are some things which would be great to be added for a future update:
1) Ability to see all breached, weak passwords etc in a sub menu of the app. That way I can just select weak passwords in the menu and see all passwords that are weak. Basically a ‘filter’.
2) The icon next to the password means nothing really. Would be great if that was the logo of the website url which visually makes the list nicer on the eyes.
3) Sometimes I have found if I edit a password when the app has no internet the sync fails which is expected, however when the app is online again it does not sync the password correctly and reverts back to the old password again.

Hey, thanks for your feedback. Regarding each point: 1) You can sort your passwords by "Security" from the filter menu (icon with two arrows). 2) The icons are fetched from your Nextcloud Passwords instance. The admin can configure which icons should be used. For example, the Favicon service "Besticon" will show website icons in the app. 3) Thanks for reporting this issue. I will try to improve the behavior when the app is used offline.

Love This App!

This app works great. I use this everyday including the Google Chrome extension.

Thanks for adding TOTP

Nice to see an attentive developer that listens to user feedback 🙏

Open automatically and import

Works superb!!! Maybe it is possible to import from keepass?
And if a webpage is setup with appropriate details; possible that you can start that page where you need the details right out of the app?
Great great job!!! Will donate

Good start

The app is a great start for a self-hosted cloud password manager. It feels raw and lack some features of a “big boys” (sharing, equivalent domains, etc...), however it does the main purpose of managing and auto-fill passwords very good.

Please make it work with E2EE!

This was working and then I set up a master password and end 2 end encryption on the server side app and it no longer works.

A password manager without end to end encryption is asking for disaster.

Response from developer

Hey, I just relased v2.0 with support for end-to-end/client-side encryption! I would be happy if you give the app another chance.

End-to-end encryption is not supported

This app doesn’t work when encryption is enabled on the server. Is it in the pipeline to make that work?

Yay!

I was very happy to see that a passwords client appeared on the App Store. So far it’s working great. Thanks-a-billion to the dev(s)!
