"The One That Doubles Down" This update introduces a new widget type: A small widget that has room for two actions, doubling its functionality from the previous version. There’s also a new action available: one that toggles lights in a room or group on AND off, saving 50% space compared to separate on/off actions. Other than that: The app's foundation has been rewritten, taking up 50% less storage on your device. And to top it off: You can now rename your widget configurations for better recognition and organization. Please consider writing a nice review. “The One With the Manual Bridge Setup” On rare occasions, Hue Widgets will not be able to find your Hue bridge automatically during the first setup. When this happens, you will now be offered to enter your Hue bridge’s IP address manually. Other than that: This update also fixes a couple of small issues I encountered during development. Please consider writing a nice review. It will help others to find Hue Widgets in the App Store.

“The One That Gets Interactive” Thanks to iOS 17, a much-requested feature has now become a reality. Hue Widgets finally allows you to control your lights from your Home Screen, without opening the app after tapping the widget. Version 1.3.1 also improves an error message some users would see during the initial setup of the app, by making clear what is going on and what they could do to resolve this. "The One That Brings Color" You can now choose a color for each tile when you configure your widgets.* That will certainly brighten up your Home Screen. And maybe even your day! But that's not all! • The whole app just looks better than before. The buttons that represent your rooms and lights are now alive with color and all screens work well with changes that were introduced in iOS 15. • Getting bored by looking at the same app icons every day? In Settings, you can choose between a dark and light app icon. * For now, this cool new feature only works on iOS 15. I'll keep looking for ways to bring the same effect to older versions of iOS as well. Please consider writing a nice review. It will help others to find Hue Widgets in the App Store.

"The One That Stays at Home" In Settings you will now find an option to automatically return to the Home Screen after controlling your lights or setting a scene from a widget. This much requested feature is still experimental, so please try it out and let me know what you think. But that's not all! • When you open the app at a time that your connected bridge cannot be reached you will now see a message that will better describe what's happening, including an option to connect to another bridge. • The button to delete a widget will now trigger a dialog that asks you to confirm your action first. • Rooms with exactly two lights in them no longer behave weird when you try to control the lights. • When you open the app by using a widget the list of scenes will no longer stay empty. • There's a new button in Settings to reload all rooms, zones, and lights from the current bridge. • There's a new button in Settings to connect to another bridge. Please consider writing a nice review. It will help others to find Hue Widgets in the App Store.

  • Worked until it didn’t

I have had the app for two months. I’ve had to uninstall and reinstall twice every so often because it unlinks with bridge.

In theory it works well and when linked it works well.

But when you reinstall you have to completely rebuild the widgets. I frankly don’t have time to do that every couple of weeks.

So I have uninstalled and won’t be reinstalling

    Developer Response

I’m sorry you experienced this. So far I’ve not seen heard any complaints about unlinking bridges. And reconnecting should not destroy your widgets. If you don’t feel like investing more time, I totally understand this. But if you would like to give the app another chance, please contact me at huewidgets@pimnijman.nl. I’ll do my very best to help you out.
  • Must have hue bridge for this to work

Must have hue bridge for this to work, does not work with hue lights alone

    Developer Response

That’s correct. This is true for all third party apps for Hue. That’s why I mentioned it in the app’s description. I’m sorry you missed it. Feel free to ask for a refund: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204084
  • No option to toggle lights

This app is doing the same thing an iOS shortcut can do. If you are looking for a way to toggle hue lights with one widget this is not the app for you. Disappointed I had to pay $2 to find this out.
