  • Great App!

This works really well with the Zoom G6, for editing patches & settings and organizing the presets. Bluetooth connection between the phone & the G6 works great; it’s all right there in the app; I didn’t even have to go to Settings. However, it would be really great to be able to see it on a bigger screen; there should be an iPad version. As soon as that happens, I’ll change my rating to 5 stars. But still, thanks to Zoom for providing this app and capability for the G6; very useful.
    **UPDATE 7/16/2024**
Changing my rating to 5 stars.
There is still only a version for iPhone, but it does open and run on my iPad, and I have found the options to set the app to landscape mode, and full screen. This now allows me a lot more surface area to work on.

  • Great app but needs improvement

I’ve been testing it for a week. It’s great to have in front of me on my phone, the same menu options that are on the screen of the G6 on the floor. However there is a couple of issues that need to be fixed. First one is the sensitivity of the knobs that adjust the parameters of the effects. In my IPhone 11 it’s impossible to adjust bpm, msec, or any other parameter with the right precision. The values change too fast with just a minor movement of my finger. That is specially problematic with the time parameter of the delay effect, where the most useful options are cramped in the last 5% of the whole parameter range.
The second issue I encountered is that the app does not allow splitting the screen and that Bluetooth gets disconnected if I switch apps on my tablet. Originally I wanted to have the lyrics of the songs and this app running side by side on my ipad while performing. Unfortunately screen splitting is not allowed. Then I decided to try switching between apps, but every time I switched to another app, the Handy Guitar Lab Bluetooth got disconnected. My solution has been having an iPad running a lyrics app and an iPhone running Handy Guitar Labs both of them in front of me. That’s a bit too much. I hope developers read this note and let me know if I’m doing something wrong or include some improvements in next releases.
