  • Thank you for COURAGE

I got Diabetes (type 1) a year and 2 months ago. Funny enough, I got diagnosed on National Diabetes Day! I love using my Breakthrough Diabetes Rufus Bear, and giving him shots on my phone! Thanks for COURAGE and have a good day!

I was diagnosed with diabetes about a year ago. A couple of months after I was diagnosed, I started feeling really discouraged.😔 to cheer me up, my dad went to the store to try to buy me something that would be helpful. He had picked out a teddy bear named Rufus and he showed me how to do finger pricks and shots. I was so overjoyed to see that I wasn’t the only one who had diabetes! One day, I was playing chess with Rufus, and I heard my dad calling my name. “Lindsey, this app is for you.” He said “you can now do finger pokes and shots on my phone without me having to worry about it.’’ Rufus the bear with diabetes will always have a special place in my heart ♥️. I hope this app is helping.

I was recently diagnosed with type one diabetes about one year later from them, I had went on the App Store to see if they had any diabetes games available. I suddenly saw Rufus the bear diabetes game, and I was shocked. I immediately grabbed my Rufus the bear teddy bear held him tight and asked permission for the game few minutes later I had the game, as soon as I figured that out, I went straight inside of the game to see what it was all about immediately blood sugar went high. I had to give him a fingerstick, and it was so realistic to real fingersticks diagnosed with diabetes. This is great to give needles/injections to learn how to give insulin on any available pump if you’re doing the fingerstick or injection/needle hold it up to one of the areas on the body where an injection/needle and fingerstick can be put then you will see a red light or blue green, or any color light onto the screen and then your phone will get a vibrate and that’s when you know that the phone knows that that is the real part of Rufus‘s body to put the fingerstick on this game is really realistic and educational so if anybody is diagnosed diabetes around here, it’s a great game to play and learn on! 😁

  • Cute, but not completely age appropriate

I got this app for my son who is five. He can’t read. While I appreciate the storyline and the graphics, the app would be substantially better if it read the dialogue boxes as opposed to the bird whistling and chirping. Without the app reading the words, it makes it unlikely that a smaller child will play this game.

My friend was diagnosed with T1d almost a year ago and I’ve been looking for apps to help me to understand what’s they’re going through. After a month or two I stumbled upon this one and I tried. I’ve been playing this game for months and even though the story is short I think that this game is very helpful. I’ve noticed that something’s are inaccurate like how you wouldn’t use two units of insulin for a five carb apple, also when Rufus is low you can’t give him juice, well you can but it won’t work.

  • It’s a little short

When I got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes the t1D education gave me Rufus, I’ve been playing this game for a couple weeks and I’m done with the story, I wished there would be another story but there wasn’t. And it makes me sad that there are no more tasks! Overall I live this game, it’s a fun way to learn about T1D!

  • This game taught my sibling so much

This game is awesome, I have T1D and my sibling played this game and now understands a lot more about what I have to do to keep my blood sugar in range. One thing I think they could fix is when it says Rufus is low, giving him juice doesn’t bring him up and instead I have to give him something like bread. Overall this game is great it’s a fun way to teach kids about diabetes management, and how to treat high or low blood sugars to keep them in range. I would recommend this game 😁

  • Yassss!!!!

I love this game!!!!! I think they should add more though. I think they should add treating a low because when I was playing the game I went to 35. They should also add more food!!!!!I also think they should add excerzize and a doctors office! With these add in this will be amazing.
