LATEST VERSION (6.2.4) IS COMPLETELY BROKEN - DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!
It is a carbon copy import of the last iPadOS/iOS version - even the screen mirroring option has gone. Freezes, crashes and hangs constantly. There is an issue with the autopilot/randomiser function which is caused by the EXACT SAME SCENES on both iPadOS and macOS - it is clear that this current version is nothing more than a direct port of the mobile version.
I tried to get support from Marvin, the only support he seems able/prepared to provide is "have you reset it" (yes, that causes it to freeze and hang) and "Have you watched the tutorial videos...? Perhaps something is wrong with the way you are using it" - yes, Krueger’s idea of support is to BLAME THE USER! It CANNOT POSSIBLY be the app, the App is Perfect <insert Principal Skinner meme here>. I provided him with logs and diagnostic reports - y’know - to be helpful. He became extremely aggressive, accused me of “spamming” him and blocked my email. I also cannot access his Discord channel.
So much for welcoming “suggestions, feedback and bug reports”.
This is a VERY expensive app, but it’s caveat emptor because, should you have the issues I’m experiencing (macOS 14.4/M1 Max and iPadOS 17.4) and you attempt to get support for the app you paid £45 for, you too, are likely to be accused of the same. Krueger is a VERY nasty POS. He doesn’t deserve your money. DO NOT BUY THIS (or any other of his apps).

Edit: I just released an update today. Turned out the freezing problem was a bug in a software I use. I updated the software and this should hopefully solve the problem. Hey again Sarah, I don’t think you‘re telling the hole story here. I always try to be helpful with my support and take a lot of time to answer all emails but sometimes enough is enough. You have sent me a lot of messages from which I felt offended rather than having a constructive discussion about the origin of the problems you experience. I asked several times for a way to reproduce the randomizer issue (or screenshots from your current randomizer configuration) which you didn’t provided. Perhaps Vythm isn’t just the right app for you. You can always ask Apple for a refund of your money and look for an alternative. Best Marvin
Great app except for one glaring issue
I really like this app for making visuals to put to my music for social media use. However, the app takes a high quality WAV and turns it into complete garbage quality. I’m not sure what the reasoning is here but i have to take my final product and put it into iMovie with the HQ audio after I’m done in the app. It’s a shame bc if this wasn’t an issue, it would be the best app on the market for its purpose.

Recommended but needs work
Beautiful GUI. Classic and new FX. Customise or use 'out of the box'.
Please Marvin the Developer add a randomise FREE preset in which UNLOCK (paid) buttons never appear.
Also needed, I want to close up setting sections, and have them stay closed - not be reopened when I go back to them.
Otherwise very nice.

Amazing Visual Delight
Absolutely stunning graphic motions and visualisations.
Great visuals and customization
I do not normally leave reviews on apps I download, but I thought this one deserves it. I have very much enjoyed this app and its awesome customization. This is one of the few apps that i know of that have such an in depth customization for free without purchasing anything.
Recently I had an issue with audio going to my Bluetooth speakers being very grainy and slow, reached out to Marvin and got everything sorted out. He was very quick to respond and address the issue for me. Can’t say it enough, this app is great!

Great app..
Been using this app for a while now, I’ve reviewed it a couple of times, but none of them ever appear, so here’s 3rd time lucky,
I’ve been using this app for a couple of years almost, making videos to accompany the music I try to make, it has some real nice effects, I bought a couple of add ons which look amazing. I highly recommend it.
I guess my only gripe is the little ad that pops up that pauses the effects briefly when recording. But apart from that it’s a really good app.
If I could recommend anything to the Dev, it would be, I’d love to see a redesign of the text element, more fonts definitely & separate effects for them maybe, fade in/out spin, explode in/out etc I think with the array of background effects it’s already got, the results would be pretty amazing.

This App has changed my life!
First of all I want to say that Marvin has been an awesome person to work with and he has been amazing at helping to troubleshoot any challenges. Thank you so much! I just started making my own music in this past year and Vythm has been an integral part of making this a reality! I use Vythm on my IPad and IPhone. It is fun when it vibrates on your phone. I love being able to use AirPlay to stream Vythm to the TV and having dance parties for my kids. I really enjoy all of the features and parameters that can be changed and even though I’ve been using it for several months I am always finding new ways to create and make the music come alive! Vythm is the closest thing to having Synthesthesia for me and it gives a visual dimension to the music I make that actually makes the music better. This app has really been therapy for me and has made a huge difference in my mental health. It’s easy enough for beginners to have fun with and I appreciate the tutorials and other facets such as being able to incorporate your own pictures and video and the updates just keep getting better! Keep up the great work and thank you to anyone and everyone who has had a hand in developing this sweet app!

Hands-down, the best visualizer app
This app is absolutely amazing. The visuals have a great variety to them can’t get enough of it and I don’t feel that the premium is too much. Keep up the good work guys.

I have had the app for months and I really love it.
I have been purchasing the packs separately because I don’t want another subscription and in the recent updates you took the option to purchase separate effects away and made it to where we can only buy a subscription.
please switch it back I already own like 9 of them and it’s a big bummer I now have to pay monthly or yearly just to get the other ones I don’t own yet.
Still an amazing app.
It’s the best visualizer I have found in the App Store and I have checked out a ton.

Can't enter a name in the field to initiate a saved preset ... yet?
Need to rename settings to less technical (more childish) adverbs: fluffy, glowy, pixelly, kaleidoscopy; dreamy, sparky ... pet dog names.
Too many effect choices and most are too angly (another dog name) wheras Milkdrop (Geiss) needs to be more prominent. It gets lost in the mix and not being able to save the setting (yet) is a bummer.
All settings that centre the effects to the middle with (for example) a single colour background should be in one place so people can make videos for bluescreen overlays or for placing behind objects in animations in Keynote/Powerpoint etc.
Creating your own static gradient background. Maybe it's there but haven't figured it out yet.
