Don’t get me wrong, this is a great game. The story is on point, the mechanics are awesome and the atmosphere is rich.
This game is designed to be very challenging, I know. But sometimes it becomes so challenging that the solution is easy but hard to execute due to the tight spaces Arashi is placed in.
For example, at the start of level 22 (not including the first boss) there is a section involving a shield spear enemy, a wall enemy and a swinging sword thing. The only problem is that the spear enemy has very little room to walk around in, meaning he just turns back and forth. Which means, because of the way enemies are programmed, if you start attacking them a millisecond after they turn around to face you they block your attack and leave Arashi vulnerable, and in this case, right in front of a wall enemy, wasting a valuable life. And you can’t just jump away either, because of the giant sword swinging thing above you; if you touch even a pixel of that thing you’re dead. Simple as that.
The whole game isn’t like this though. Usually sections like this are manageable (even if that means sitting under the enemies and jumping, throwing a shuriken, and hiding again), it’s just that sometimes it’s hard to predict when an enemy is going to turn around and stab your face off (I’m looking at you, regular spear enemies).
By the way, the suicide bomber enemies suck. I hate them.
Good game! 7.58/10
