Terrible misinformation
I live in Fort Myers, FL and of course I know there is drift algae and other things that affect our waters. But when I am literally standing on the exact beach, that I used the app to determine where I am going for the day, and the app says the water is clear and there is no drift algae, and I am standing in ankle deep drift algae, can’t see the floor of the ocean, and it smells like dead fish, clearly the app is absolutely useless. Deleted and unsubscribed from the emails. I’ve wasted so many trips this summer “chasing” the optimal beach conditions based on the input of the beach ambassadors of this app - I will just take my chances the good old fashioned way. Mother Nature is going to do what she is going to do - I won’t waste my time on these lies.Show lessStable & Accurate
The development team fixed the issues with the app and emails. The reports are now up-to-date. I metal detect on the west coast of Florida and find the reports beneficial when selecting which beach to go to.Developer Response
Thank you for using the Beach Conditions Reporting System (BCRS). We're sorry to hear the app did not meet your expectations. The BCRS website and mobile app were experiencing some technical difficulties in March-April of 2023 that impacted the system's ability to perform certain functions (conditions reports, contact form, email subscription, etc). These issues have been remedied and the system is now fully operational. We hope you'll continue to using the BCRS. Sincerely, BCRS Management TeamWorked great when there were actually beach reports
As of April 13 the last beach reports were from March 13. With active red tide in the area it would be nice to have beach conditions.Developer Response
