Great app to get up for early morning run!
After discovering workarounds for similar task based alarm apps, I’ve finally found an app for me that works! The cloud based alarm charges the charity donation penalty even if you turn off your phone. Plus the alarm is locked for editing an hour before it’s set to go off so you can’t disable it when you groggily check your phone 30 minutes before your alarm (which I was notorious for). This alarm has taken me from meeting my morning run group once the last 3 months to making every meet up this week!Show lessZach the sleepy runner

I've tried other apps like Alarmy, but I'd just kill the app if I didn't feel like getting up. Not with Nuj. The barcode scan has me out of bed in no time. If I fail, my penalty goes to charity.
Plus, it doesn't drain my battery like other apps. Finally, the perfect alarm app!ConfusedCanuck

Started using this app last week and it has been the first time I’ve been able to consistently get out of bed without hitting the alarm snooze button or wasting time to scroll through Instagram. Im a grad student and this app has helped me be more productive in the morning, 10/10 recommend!applebuii

I use this app on a daily basis to wake up at an uncomfortable time, which makes my day go by smoother. Not just for me, but for my family too as I get my daily necessary things done before every one else is up.
My wife has told me that I’m a different individual as I tend to be happier in the mornings due to knocking out 25% of my daily to-do items off my place. Which makes me not rush my mornings anymore. I feel lighter once 7am hits.

This app has been maybe not life-changing, but at least day-changing most days. It’s crazy. I don’t oversleep. My body is on a schedule. I get up at 5am on WEEKENDS. Every weekend, without fail. Sleeping in later than I plan tends to put me in a bad mood all day, and that just doesn’t happen anymore! I used to use Alarmy but then would turn my phone off and sleep later. There’s no way out of this one once you’re within an hour of it! The subscription is absolutely worth it. Seriously. Do it. I promise im not sponsored or anything, I just really like this app and not being a lazy slug on Saturday mornings.
One request would be more options of where to donate the penalties for missing an alarm. Khan Academy is great, but would be nice to have a variety of different types of charities. Thank you!! ♥️Show lessalliebee24

The idea of paying a penalty for sleeping in might sound scary, but Nuj hits the nail on the head. It’s a well-oiled machine of wake-up motivation.
First, the penalty is paid to a charity, not to the creator, which prevents the app from taking advantage of you. If you’re charged a penalty and feel it wasn’t fair, you can get in touch with the creator and discuss waiving it. Because the app doesn’t profit from the penalties, you can trust the process to dispute a charge will be handled fairly. The creator is very responsive; that personal touch sets Nuj apart from other, similar apps.
Next, the app does not allow you to change the alarm within one hour of when it goes off. This prevents you from switching it off if you wake up early and get tempted to sleep in.
Third, the app offers simple instructions for syncing it up with your phone’s alarm clock app.
I’ve been using this app for six months now and haven’t slept in once. After a few weeks of use, you won’t even consider the idea of not getting up when your alarm goes off. It truly helps you build new, better habits.Show lessMike C.........

Nuj is an excellent alarm that helps you get up in the morning, even when you’re exhausted, and prevents you from using cheap cheats like deleting the app.

I was a bit sceptical about paying for an alarm, but this is a service that really works for me.
Have yet to be charged for a late wake-up, since I now get up on time and get out of bed and on with my day.

Cannot pick which charity the money should go to, and you have to pay $5/month just to be able to use it. I’d rather just wake up knowing I’m not spending $5 a month for an alarm.Ben47823

Hey there! Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it. Currently, the penalties are donated to Khan Academy as it's a great cause. This keeps things simple. That being said, if nuj does what it's supposed to, you shouldn't be incurring any penalties! That's also why there's a subscription. Without a subscription nuj wouldn't be sustainable. I'm always considering different options for the penalties. If you have a different charity in mind, please share it: support@nuj.app.
