The momently journal app has the potential to be an excellent alternative to the Apple journal app. However, after using it for some time, I've identified a few areas where it could be improved to make it even better.
One useful feature that could be added is a calendar view, which would allow users to easily browse and access past entries. Additionally, incorporating mood tags would make it easier to track and reflect on emotional states over time.
Another suggestion is to add a quick check-in option for users to record daily activities, similar to the Daylio app. This would be especially helpful for those who may not have the time or energy to write longer entries, but still want to keep a record of their daily experiences. For example, users could simply select options such as "went to school/work," "met up with friends," or "exercised."
Overall, while this journal app shows promise, there are several areas where it could be improved to enhance the user experience.
