  • No transparency

It would be so nice if these app developers would tell you in the description what the charge would be for the app or how many entries you can add for free. So sick and tired of wasting my time and energy entering data only to get smacked in the face with a ….you can’t proceed without paying for additional entries. How about telling us consumers in the description of this app.

How do I mark a bill as “paid”? because swiping on it when I see all my upcoming bills, all it does is permanently delete the bill

    Developer Response

Thanks for your review. The notifications on the bell icon shows the number of bills due in the next 7 days. The notification goes away automatically once the bill is past due. We apologize if this wasn’t too intuitive. We’re in the process of adding a notification centre in our future update. Please drop us a line at contact[at]goforthventures[dot]com if you have any follow-up questions.

I’ve added about 10 bills so far, but when I click on the bell notification icon in the lower right corner, I have 4 “notifications” and when I click on it there’s no way to “clear” them. I’m not sure how to clear the notifications. Please help

  • Easy to Use

This app is very simple and easy to use. Almost too simple. I just wish there was a way to go back and view archived bills. I needed to go back and look a bill, but once I marked it paid I wasn't able to see it anymore. A bill reminder would also help. Otherwise, you have to remember to open the app and mark bills as paid. I had two that were marked overdue. I tried to check them off and they wouldn't leave the screen. Hopefully, there will be a few updates to make the app better.

  • No bi-weekly

It’s proudly Canadian and it’s missing a biweekly billing cycle!?
  • Don’t pay if you planning to use it on multiple devices

My husband paid for a year because we thought that we could use the same account to put all our bills and have it on his phone and mine but when I login on my iPhone with the same account as my husband it says that I need to upgrade it doesn’t make any sense because we are using the same account so to use it on 2 devices you need to pay twice that is messed up. I would like my money back please or fixe it so we can use multiple devices.

We're sorry to hear about your issue. Your husband's purchase of an annual subscription is tied to his Apple ID. If you use the same Apple ID on your device and tap on 'restore purchase', you should be able to use the same account. However we understand that you wouldn’t want to use your husband’s Apple ID on your phone. We'd like to make it easier for you to share your husband's account on a different device. Please email us at contact@billsyfinance.com with ‘Account Sharing Issues’ in the subject line and we'll send you a one-time promo code for an annual subscription. Hope this helps! We realize family sharing is a feature that our users would benefit from. We've added the same to our roadmap and should be released in the near future.
  • Lacking basic features, many UX flaws

The basic functionality of this app does what it needs to, letting you enter in bills and get reminders three days in advance of the bill.

However, the app is lacking some pretty basic features such as:
    * customise bill reminder date (it’s stuck at three days no matter what)
    * tap on donut chart to reveal which bills are included in that breakdown (tapping on the chart does literally nothing but expand the size of that portion. What is the point in that?)
    * multiple currency support (you are stuck with one currency). This means you have to manually convert to/from other currencies if you have international bills, which sucks.

It’s UX is also extremely poor. Just a few examples:
    * you can’t dismiss the keyboard when searching for a bill type
    * the most common type of bill is monthly. It should be set to monthly by default to prevent accidentally entering in yearly bills that are actually monthly
    * complete lack of iOS widgets. I would love to see my next bill on a simple Home Screen widget.
    * tapping on a date in the calendar almost never results in the app scrolling to that bill. Seems like an unfinished or buggy implementation of a basic UX feature
    * many more small things that you would expect to work don’t do what you would expect or they don’t work at all.

I hope this app gets a little more TLC. I am a software developer and it would only take a few dedicated weekends of hard work to fix the above issues but it would make a world of difference.

Regardless, thanks to the app dev for a clean looking bill tracker!

Thanks for your feedback. We truly appreciate it. We're still in the early stages and working on improving the app - your detailed feedback would go a long way in helping us do that.
  • Amazing

Does what I need, keeps up with all my due dates and provides reminders before it is due! I would love to see button to mark if a bill was paid or not in the future to better track paid and past due bills.

Thanks a ton for your review! We're glad you're enjoying the app. We've added your suggestion to our product roadmap and plan to implement it in our upcoming app updates.
  • You need to pay to add more than 3 bills

I wish I had just 2 bills to pay monthly but that is not the case. Save your time if you are looking for a free app to manage all your bills.
