Description of midiSolfa

midiSolfa uses the device camera to search for and evaluate Curwen (solfège) hand signs and play the corresponding note. Think of it like a midi instrument you control by making any of seven different hand signs representing the notes of a major scale (do-re-mi-fa-sol-la-ti-do). midiSolfa is great for anyone learning to sing or looking to practice their Curwen (aka solfège or Kodaly) hand signs. It is also helpful for ear training. The app displays the currently recognized sign in the upper right corner and can also display the note’s corresponding color (as assigned by Isaac Newton). You can adjust the midi voice (i.e. piano, organ, trumpet, etc.), octave, and major key. You can also record your performance and save it to your photo library or share it with others via e-mail, text, social media, etc.
