Nice complement to X-6 - would love more in-app file handling…
Provides a very clear full UI of the X-6 device on an IOS device with a very fast BT control connection and response to controls. Almost reminds me of my old EMU EOS remote sampler control app from years ago (though that was over SCSI way back…..)
Love how I can set my device up then hit record on my phone to start taking samples. No operator sound/button press/etc. clean samples, done. Remote gain monitoring too!
Visually it looks like a 20ms to 40ms delay from button press to start and with auto record, no lost data. That’s very good!! No real lag.
Bluetooth adapter was a bit pricey but this is specialist gear.
Love my device for field recording, industrial noise sampling, “sound photos” and shuttling it to the DAW via SD/USB.
There is basic file editing/split too. Pretty cool!
I just wish the device would allow me to easily make each recording a specific name (eg Factory floor - impulse hits - metallic snares” without going into a general “word” based file system eg date based or FactoryNoise-0001, 0002, 0003 etc. to allow library development in the field. The app would be the best place to do this to quickly manage files, preview, edit, save, specifically name and organize. Now that would be a game-changer. Hey Tascam… allow the transfer of audio files via Bluetooth
How did they leave this one out of the feature set? Transferring via a cable is much faster than Bluetooth I’ll admit, but having to find a cable is a pain.UkeTone

I was under the impression that you would be able to pair this device with your car stereo, air pods etc. I should have never made that assumption but I hope that tascam will create an update that will allow you to pair it to bluetooth monitoring devices. If nothing else, deseign an updated bluetooth card that will allow this sort of pairing!!!!! An AK-BT2 maybe?????Show lessPfonkdawg
You CAN’T listen the recordings
You just can’t listen the recordings on the iPhone or your Airpods. TASCAM should add functionality to listen recordings on your phone by using Airpods or other desired wireless headphones or iPhone speaker. Tascam X8 speaker is worse than anything else in the market including $0.50 bluetooth speakers from China. Dissapointed.Show lessN~B~R

You can have all the functions of Portacapture x6 on iPhone exempt monitoring or playback through AirPods. Why???1dickyboyjones
Disappointed.
Firstly, I was already kind of bummed that I HS to buy an extra Bluetooth adapter for my Portacapture X8, but I hoped that it would make life easier in the long run. I was able to get the app up and running on my phone and paired to the device, but it is incredibly laggy and unresponsive. It works decently for modes such as Field and Voice, but it freezes in Manual, which I’m planning on using most frequently. I’m on an iPhone 12 Pro, so I don’t think it’s my device. Hopefully we see an update to fix this because it’s currently unusable.Show lessYodog10
