  • A bit to be desired

This app fills a niche that has been left unfilled in weather apps, and I'm a huge fan of the concept. However, there are two main issues with this app:

    1) A paid app with a premium upgrade. Given that I'm already paying for the app, it is a bit disingenuous to push a $3.99 upgrade in-app. It should be either free with an upgrade option or somewhere in the middle (e.g. $1.99) for everything— initial download included.

    2) A huge thing that is missing is humidity being factored in as a "running condition". I live in a humid city, and it is essentially impossible to run when humidity is higher than 70% (and very difficult above 60%). Skin precipitation makes it impossible to vent in these conditions, and I would argue humidity is more important than temperature as it needs to exceed ~95° for temp to be an issue. However, the app doesn't factor in humidity— and could very well tell me to "run now" in 80% humidity.

As a suggestion: The app could also use a tool that tells you what to wear based on preferences.

As a basic app, it's okay, but not worth any money without additional functionality.

    Developer Response

Thanks for the feedback! Your point about humidity is well taken. I’ll consider that for a future update. As for clothing suggestions, I find that while clothing choice correlates generally to weather, personal preferences vary pretty widely, so most suggestions would be pretty obvious (it’s cold, wear a hat!) or not specific enough (it’s cold enough for a headband, but not a hat, but I don’t own a headband)—and can fall flat. Pricing is tricky! I want to provide an app that’s useful out of the box, but still covers my basic costs if folks don’t feel like upgrading. I appreciate your specific thoughts on it. Let us know if you have any more feature request or run into issues. Best, Nick
